A ballast housing has a bottom wall, a sidewall extending in a first direction from the bottom wall, and a first compartment that is defined between the bottom wall and the sidewall, with a first access opening remote from the bottom wall. The housing further includes an interior wall extending from its bottom wall in the first direction and is located completely within the first compartment, and a second compartment that is defined by the interior wall and is isolated from the first compartment by the interior wall. The second compartment includes a second access opening adjacent the bottom wall. A first component can be disposed in the first compartment and a second component can be disposed in the second compartment with the second compartment isolating the second component from the first component in the first compartment.

Luminaire

A luminaire retrofit panel including a main wall adapted to support a luminaire in a central opening of the main wall, and including an outer perimeter. A side wall extends from the outer perimeter of the main wall. A plurality of secondary walls extend from the side wall and extend over a portion of the main wall toward the central opening of the main wall. The secondary walls are substantially parallel to the main wall. The plurality of secondary walls support at least one hinge and at least one latch. The hinge is engagable with a frame and allows the main wall to pivot with respect the frame. The latch is engagable with the frame to hold the main wall to releasably secure the main wall to the frame.

A luminaire comprising an optical assembly that has a mounting interface. A socket holder has a mounting member that is adapted to mount the socket holder to the mounting interface of the optical assembly. First and second proximate surfaces are adapted to support a socket and a light source in first and second orientations, respectively. The socket holder defines a central axis. A longitudinal axis is defined by the socket and the light source in the first orientation is substantially parallel to the central axis of the socket holder and a longitudinal axis of the socket and the light source in the second orientation is angled with respect to the central axis of the socket holder.

Luminaire with adjustable lamp orientation

A light mounting panel for connecting to a luminaire frame having a base with an upper and a lower surface and having first, second, third and fourth outer edges. The base has an opening and an inner edge defining the opening. The first outer edge being opposite the second outer edge and the third outer edge being opposite the fourth outer edge. First, third and fourth walls extend upwardly from the upper surface of the base at the first, third and fourth outer edges, respectively, and contactable with internal flanges of the existing luminaire frame to align the mounting panel with the existing luminaire frame during installation. A second wall extends upwardly and inwardly from the upper surface of the base at the second outer edge. A first fixed tab extends laterally outwardly from the first wall to engage a first slot in the luminaire frame. A second tab extends outwardly from the second wall and is movable between an insertion position within a periphery of the base and an installed position extending laterally outwardly from the periphery to engage a second slot in the luminaire frame.

An optical assembly includes a frame member for holding an optical member, a mounting member releasably coupled to the frame member and having a latch engaging surface. A latch member is coupled to the frame member and is pivotally movable between locked and unlocked positions relative to the frame and mounting members. The latch member has a main body portion, a cam arm portion extending from a first surface at a first end of the main body portion, a handle portion extending from the first surface at an opposing second end of the main body portion, and a central positioning portion extending from the first surface between the cam arm and handle portions. A spring biasing member is disposed between the latch member and the frame member for biasing the latch member toward the locked position.

Latch for optical assembly

A lighting fixture has a housing with a latching surface, a frame coupled to the housing and having a slot, a refractor or lens supported by the frame, and a latching member coupled to the frame. The latching member includes a main flexing portion, a lead portion extending from one end of the main flexing portion and received in the slot of the frame, and a cam portion extending from an opposite end of the main flexing portion. The latching member moves between a released position with the latching member disengaged from the latching surface of the housing, and a latched position with the latching member engaged with the latching surface of the housing.

A lighting fixture includes a housing, a frame, and a hinge assembly pivotally coupling the frame to the housing. The hinge assembly includes a first hinge part fixed to and extending from the housing and has first and second support arms and a pin extending between the support arms. A centering bar is located between the first and second support arms. The hinge assembly also includes a second hinge part extending from the frame and slidably engaged with the first hinge part. The second hinge part has a first arcuate lead arm and a first trap arm defining a receiving area between the lead arm and the trap arm. The pin of the first hinge part is received in the receiving area of the second hinge part. This allows the second hinge part to slide relative to the pin. Each of the lead and trap arms of the second hinge part is disposed near opposite sides of the centering bar of the first hinge part.

A lighting fixture frame with two diecast hinges. One part of each hinge has a split trough molded-in with the body of the mounting member. One side of the split trough has a molded ball rib. The second part of each hinge has two pins molded-in with the lens frame. The pins extend parallel to the edge of the frame. One pin from the hinge has a ball groove located around its base. The ball rib and ball groove slide together for centering and allowing ample clearance between the body and the frame. A lock can releasably cover one pin of each hinge, to retain pins in the troughs, while allowing the hinges to pivot.

A light shielding and reflecting device is connected to a luminaire reflector that is quickly and easily adjustable to alter the emitted beam configuration. The luminaire includes a housing, a lamp with optical sides mounted in the housing, a main reflector mounted in the housing about the lamp, and a removable reflector shield having a plurality of tabs releasably engaging openings in the main reflector. The shield is positioned to block light from emitting into an undesired area and redirects that light to a desired area. A second shield can be used depending on the desired beam configuration.

A light fixture having an adjustable reflector is supported on a deployment bar. An actuation screw passes through the deployment bar and engages a threaded stud. Threading the actuation screw into and out of the threaded stud bends the deployment bar, which in turn pushes against the reflector adjusting the angle of the reflector.

A luminaire housing has a frame with a securing member, a door panel releasably coupled to the frame and movable between open and closed positions. A latch assembly on the door panel releasably secures the door panel to the securing member of the frame. The latch assembly includes a fastening member received in a fastener slot of the door panel, a safety spring latch with a top camming portion, an intermediate body poron extending from the top camming portion, and a guide leg member extending from the intermediate body portion and attached to the door panel. A slide lock has a rail hole that slidably receives the guide leg member and has an aperture for receiving the fastener member. The slide lock is movable between a locked position engaged with the securing member to lock the door panel in the closed position and a release position disengaged and spaced from the securing member to allow the door panel to move toward the open position and to allow the safety spring latch to engage the securing member.
