The invention is directed to a container having a tamper evidence collar integrally formed on the container body, wherein the tamper evidence collar comprises: an annular portion which extends circumferentially outwardly from the container body; a discontinuous skirt portion which extends vertically from the annular portion, extends substantially circumferentially about the container body; a tamper evidence tab disposed in the circumferential location of the skirt discontinuity, wherein the tab comprises: an annularly extending portion aligned with the annular portion of the collar; and a skirt portion aligned with the skirt of the collar, one or more pins that rotatably join the tab to the tamper evidence collar; and at least one frangible web which connects the tab to the tamper evidence collar prior to actuation of the tab.

Tamper evident closure

A dispensing device is provided for storing and dispensing a flowable, viscous material. A cartridge is provided for storing the material and includes a tube, a movable cup member located within the tube, an end wall having a nozzle opening covered with a removable seal and a nozzle. The nozzle is removably held within the cup member during storage. The dispensing device is formed by inserting the cartridge within the actuator. The actuator comprises a barrel, a trigger, a handle, a plunger and a resilient detent. The movement of the trigger causes the plunger to push the moveable member forward. The detent holds the plunger in place maintaining the flow of material.

Device for holding and dispensing viscous material

An overcap () is provided for a container () having a hinge () supporting a moveable flap () to provide access to the container reservoir. First and second skirts () are provided for engaging an upper rim on the container body, with one skirt permitting the mounting of the overcap in two alternate positions. In the first position, only the first skirt () engages the upper rim, which allows a removable membrane to be positioned on the upper rim of the container. In the second position, the membrane is removed and both the first and second skirts engage the inner and outer edges of the rim of the container.

Hinged overcap for a container

There is provided a double rib overcap with a plug for a container with a removable membrane. The skirt of the overcap includes two inside surfaces axially separated a rib. The container opening is encircled by a rim and the membrane covers the opening such that the membrane extends radially onto an outer surface of the rim. The two inside surfaces of the skirt are dimensionally sized to create an interference-fit with the rim when the overcap is connected to the container when the membrane is either attached or removed. The overcap also includes a circumferential ring radially inward of the skirt that is axially positioned to engage the top surface of the membrane when the membrane is attached to the container and is diametrically dimensioned to engage an inner wall of the container when the membrane is removed from the container.

A container closure includes a utensil formed of a first polymer material, and a lid formed of a second polymer material, the utensil being detachably adhered to the lid by a chemical bond between the first and second polymer materials in the absence of any adhesive or bonding agent. A method for making the closure comprises the steps of introducing a quantity of a first polymer material into a mold to form a utensil, transferring the utensil from the first mold into a second mold or structurally modifying the first mold, and introducing a quantity of a second polymer material into the second mold or modified first mold to form a lid in such a manner that the utensil is detachably adhered to the lid by a chemical bond between the first and second polymer materials in the absence of any adhesive or bonding agent.

Compositions for injection-molding of long, thin-walled, one-piece squeeze tubes include low-density polyethylene having a density less than about 0.925 g/cc and a melt index of at least about 50 g/10 minutes, and polypropylene having a high melt index greater than about 800 g/10 minutes, wherein the high melt index is attained by peroxide degradation of the polypropylene during melt processing. The compositions can also include a polymer that is miscible and compatible with low-density polyethylene and polypropylene for enhancing flow of the molding composition in the mold, the polymer having a glass transition temperature Tof about &#x2212;20 to &#x2212;40&#xb0; C., and/or metallocene resin having a density less than about 0.915 g/cc.

A carrier tube includes a vacuum draw system for promoting receipt of a yarn tail end within a circumferential start-up groove of the tube. The draw system includes angled air-scoop openings extending through the tube wall adjacent the start-up groove to move air through the tube rotation. Each of the angled openings includes a narrowed venturi portion creating a zone of reduced pressure. The system further includes passages extending between the start-up groove and the narrowed portions of the air-scoop openings to connect the start-up groove to the reduced pressure of the openings.

A carrier tube is provided for retaining yarn packages during a dyeing operation, the tube including axially aligned rings spaced from one another along at least a portion thereof. Longitudinally extending columns or ribs intersect each of the rings to form a lattice structure over at least a portion of the surface of the tube body in which apertures are defined by the rings and ribs. Each of the ribs includes interspersed reduced load carrying sections that deflect compressively in response to axial load applied to the tube. The deflections of the reduced load carrying sections accumulating over the length of the ribs to permit axial acceptance of the load. The carrier tube also having radial reduction sections connected to the rings to accept a radial reduction of the tube in response to compressive load created by the yarn during the dyeing operation.

Collapsible yarn carrier tube

A dispenser is provided for sprinkling a preset quantity of granted material, such as table salt. The dispenser comprises a granulated material reservoir, an enclosure, a metering cup, a cap, a collector and a diffuser. The reservoir has a side, a top and a bottom wall. The enclosure encases the reservoir side wall and is closed at one end by a cap adjacent to the reservoir bottom wall. The metering cup is positioned in the cap and an opening in the reservoir bottom wall communicates with and fills the metering cup. A collector is positioned adjacent to the top wall of the reservoir. A passageway formed between the reservoir sidewall and the enclosure communicates with the metering cup and collector. The diffuser is positioned adjacent to an opening in the collector and opposite the collector. When the dispenser is in the upright position, granulated material from the reservoir fills the metering cup. When the dispenser is inverted, the granulated material flows from the metering cup through the passageway to the collector. The collector directs the granulated material to the diffuser that sprinkles the granulated material over a desired area.

Metered material dispenser

A container for refrigerated dough or other expandable products and a condiment cup therein for containing icing and the like includes the following construction. The container has an elongate cylindrical body with an interior wall of a predetermined diameter and end closures. The condiment cup is of a flexible plastic generally cup-shaped construction having a generally cylindrical side wall closed at one end by a dome-shaped convex end and open at the other end. The cylindrical side wall has an outside diameter only slightly less than the diameter of the container interior wall so as to provide a loose friction fit when the condiment cup is positioned within the container cylindrical body portion. The condiment cup is filled with condiment and positioned within the container at one end of the cylindrical body portion with the open end of the cup facing the end closure at the one end. The container is filled with refrigerated dough or other expandable product, so that, as the product expands within the container, the product will push against the dome-shaped convex end of the condiment cup for flexing the cup end inwardly to cause flexing of the cup side wall outwardly to provide a tighter friction fit with the container interior wall to seal the condiments in the cup from the product in the container.

Container and condiment cup for refrigerated dough or like products

A re-usable yarn carrier to be mounted on a winding machine and to have yarn wound on and unwound therefrom is provided. The yarn carrier includes a hollow cylindrical tube which is preferably made of a plastic material. Each end of the tube is provided with a channel. The transition between the outside surface of the tube and the channel is formed by a shoulder. A resilient ring is positioned within each channel. The resilient ring is engaged by the base surface of the channel and forms an engagement surface adjacent to the shoulder on the tube. Further, the end of the ring positioned proximal to the end of the tube forms a protective edge. Thus, if the tube is dropped, the ring takes the brunt of the force rather than the tube material itself. The formation of the ring within the channel within the tube forms a yarn winding engagement surface. In addition, the resilient rings may be provided in various colors and forms so as to provide identification for the type of yarn on the tube.

A tamper evident dust cover for a drum bung is provided. The cover includes a cap portion and a sidewall portion extending downwardly from the edge of the cap portion. The cap portion has a pair of frangible lines which extend to its edges. The sidewall portion has an inner and outer surface, and a pair of frangible lines on one surface which communicate with the frangible lines on the cap portion. A locking ring is integrally formed with and extending downwardly from the sidewall portion. The locking ring is adapted to hinge at its juncture with the sidewall portion between two positions. In the first position, the locking ring is positioned downwardly and inwardly below the hollow area formed by the cap and the sidewall. When the locking ring is in the second position, it is positioned upwardly and inwardly into the hollow area of the cover. In the second position, the locking ring is capable of engaging the lip of a drum bung to prevent removal of the cover A pull tab extends outwardly from the sidewall. When the pull tab is pulled, part of the sidewall portion and the cap portion tear from the cover along the frangible lines.

A reel is provided for the winding and unwinding of wire or the like. The reel includes a cylindrical hub having a pair of flanges, one at each end of the hub. The hub includes an inner cylindrical wall defining a central hollow bore through the center of the reel. An outer cylindrical wall is provided concentrically around the inner wall and forms a barrel surface for the winding of the coiled wire (or the like) thereon. The flanges serve to protect the wire wound on the barrel surface. A frusto-conical or tapered wall is provided at opposite ends of the reel to connect the inner wall of the hub to the radially projecting flange. The frusto-conical wall includes at least one opening or window therein, providing a handle for lifting the reel from a package or carton. The reel may also be provided with a series of concentric cylindrical support ribs within the hollow portion defined by the flanges. Other structural support members may also be provided by the internal structures of the reel.
