This application describes kits, methods, and systems of three dimensional printing. In some examples, described herein are three-dimensional object printing kits comprising a metallic or a ceramic build material, a polymeric binder dispersed in an aqueous liquid vehicle, and a boundary fluid comprising thermally expandable particles.

Three-dimensional printing

Techniques for using a pin array to support a 3D printed object during sintering are disclosed. An example method includes adjusting pins of a pin array to provide support for a bottom surface of the 3D printed object, and placing the 3D printed object on the pin array. The method also includes placing the 3D printed object and pin array in a sintering oven, and heating the 3D printed object in the sintering oven to sinter the 3D printed object while being supported by the pin array.

According to one example there is provided a non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to: obtain an object model; analyse the object model; obtain characteristics of an interface agent; generate a modified object model comprising a support structure and an interface between the support structure and the object, the interface being such that after generation of a 3D printed green part and after sintering thereof, the support structure may be released with a predetermined force; and controlling a 3D printer to generate a 3D printed green part based on the modified object model.

Support structures and interfaces

In an example, a three-dimensional (3D) printing kit includes a metallic build material composition; a binding agent; and a release agent for patterning a breakable connection. The binding agent includes a first latex binder. The release agent includes a white colorant including a white metal oxide pigment coated with a coating selected from the group consisting of alumina, silica, and combinations thereof; boehmite particles; a second latex binder; and an aqueous vehicle.

The present disclosure is drawn to material sets, methods and printed articles and container supports. In one example, a material set can include a particulate fusible build material a particulate fusible build material having an average particle size ranging from about 0.01 &#x3bc;m to about 200 &#x3bc;m. The material set can also include a fusing ink including a fusing agent in a first liquid vehicle, wherein the fusing agent fuses the particulate fusible build material when exposed to electromagnetic energy or thermal energy. The material set can also include a binding ink including a binding agent in a second liquid vehicle, wherein the binding agent temporarily binds the particulate fusible build material when exposed to moderate temperatures ranging from ambient to 150&#xb0; C.

Material sets

The present disclosure is drawn to plasma treatment heads. In one example, a plasma head can include a dielectric barrier formed of a dielectric material. The dielectric barrier can have a treatment surface and an interior surface opposite of the treatment surface. A first electrode can be embedded within the dielectric barrier beneath the treatment surface. A second electrode can also be embedded within the dielectric barrier beneath the treatment surface and spaced laterally apart from the first electrode. A plurality of injection holes can penetrate through the dielectric plate from the interior surface to the treatment surface. The plurality of injection holes can be located between the first electrode and second electrode.

Plasma treatment heads

The present disclosure is drawn to material sets, methods and printed articles and container supports. In one example, a material set can include a particulate fusible build material having an average particle size ranging from about 0.01 &#x3bc;m to about 200 &#x3bc;m, wherein the particulate fusible build material is a polymer powder, a metal composite powder, or a combination thereof. A fusing ink includes a fusing agent in a first liquid vehicle, wherein the fusing agent fuses the particulate fusible build material when exposed to electromagnetic energy or thermal energy. A binding ink includes a binding agent in a second liquid vehicle, wherein the binding agent temporarily binds the fusible build material when exposed to moderate temperatures ranging from ambient to 150&#xb0; C.

The present disclosure is drawn to printing systems. In one example, a printing system can include an inkjet print head and a plasma generator. The inkjet print head can be used to form a printed image on a media substrate. The plasma generator can be positioned with respect to the inkjet print head to treat the printed image after application to the media substrate.

Printing systems

A non-Newtonian photo-curable ink composition that comprises from about 0.1 wt % to about 10 wt % of metal oxide particles having an average particle size ranging from 1 to 50 nm; from about 0.05 wt % to about 10 Wt % of an inorganic salt; an organic solvent; a photo-initiator; and a polymerizable material; wherein the ink composition has a first dynamic viscosity ranging from 25 cps to 10,000 cps at a first state and a second dynamic viscosity ranging from 1 cps to 50 cps at a second state. Also described herein is a method for making such non-Newtonian photo-curable ink composition and a method for producing printed images using such non-Newtonian photo-curable ink composition.

Non-Newtonian photo-curable ink composition

The present disclosure is drawn to printing systems. In one example, a printing system can include a pretreatment head, an inkjet print head, and a post-treatment head. The pretreatment head can include a first plasma generator to apply a plasma treatment to a media substrate. The inkjet print head can be positioned with respect to the pretreatment head to form a printed image on the media substrate after the plasma treatment. The post-treatment head can include a second plasma generator positioned with respect to the inkjet print head to treat the printed image on the media substrate.

A non-Newtonian photo-curable ink composition that includes a metal oxide/alkoxysilane complex in an amount ranging from about 0.1 wt % to about 10 wt %, a salt in an amount ranging from about 0.05 wt % to about 20 wt %, a photo-initiator, an organic solvent, and water, wherein the ink composition has a first dynamic viscosity ranging from 25 cps to 10,000 cps at a first state and a second dynamic viscosity ranging from 1 cps to 50 cps at a second state. Also described herein is a method for making such non-Newtonian photo-curable ink composition and a method for producing printed images using such non-Newtonian photo-curable ink composition.

The present disclosure provides non-Newtonian inkjet inks and related methods. In one example, a non-Newtonian inkjet ink can comprise a low molecular weight organic gelator in an amount ranging from 0.1% to 10% by weight based on the total weight of the non-Newtonian inkjet ink; a salt in an amount of 0.05% to 20% by weight based on the total weight of the non-Newtonian inkjet ink; and an organic solvent. Additionally, the low molecular weight organic gelator and the salt can form a structured network and the inkjet ink can have a viscosity ranging from 100 cps to 10,000 cps at a temperature of 25&#xb0; C. and a viscosity ranging from 1 cps to 10 cps at a temperature of 50&#xb0; C.
