Various methods and devices control operating components using a device operation program, control a user interface device using a menu program to display a device menu having menu options, receive menu choices in response to the device menu, control the operating components based on the menu choices, and convert the device menu into a browser-compatible menu compatible with internet protocols using the menu reproduction program. The browser-compatible menu has the same menu options included in the device menu. These methods and devices provide the browser-compatible menu to external devices using a wired or wireless communications device, receive external device input from the external devices responding to the browser-compatible menu, supply, from the wired or wireless communications device, the external device input to the device operation program and control the operating components by the device operation program based on the external device input.

Simultaneous generation of differently interactive device menus automatically from an initial device menu

The image data processing system and method disclosed, processes intermediate compressed binary data representing images scanned for copy or exporting, thereby enabling storage of the copy or export file to a common memory storage device. According to an exemplary embodiment, the image data processing system comprises a binary lossless decompress module, a binary to contone restoration module, and an export processing module, the export processing module processing multiple bit image data for exporting to an image data receiving device.

A method and system to convert an electronic image file described in a page description language containing both contone and non-contone image objects to an intermediate binary format image. The intermediate format image separately encodes the contone and non-contone image objects. The contone image objects are edge-tagged. Prior to printing, the intermediate binary format page image is separated into the contone and non-contone image objects. The contone image objects are converted back to a contone form using the edge tagging to modify the filter weights of a digital filter. The non-contone image objects are converted to contone form by means of a pattern matching scheme.

Lighting fixture has a self-contained triangular junction box that mounts in the corner of a room or space with the box cover secured as a permanent part of the shade-like lamp housing. The lamp housing has a back panel with a cut-out that slips over the corner mounted junction box, the box cover extending into the housing for registration with the open side of the box when the housing is in place. A single screw joins the box cover to the box and thereby secures the lamp housing thereto. An electrical device mounting system employs various adapter structures that mount in the corner of a room and by means of which various junction boxes, or other electrical components, can be fastened in the corner of a room catercorner thereto. A series of structures are illustrated for corner mounting of telephone equipment such as jacks, wall mountable instruments, and the like.

Unique eyewear is disclosed having electronically controlled lens structures in which the optical transmissivity thereof is automatically adjusted to a level correlated with the level of ambient light. The preferred eyewear includes a pair of lens having liquid crystal material therebetween, a control circuit having a sensitivity-adjustable, ambient light sensor, and a power supply. The preferred power supply includes a battery and a photocell array distributed about the periphery of the lens structures. In use, the control circuit senses ambient light level and adjusts the transmissivity of the lens structure to a level correlated with the ambient light level.

A scanning system for an electrophotographic printing machine is adapted to alleviate the problem of platen overheating when the machine is operated in a mode wherein documents are stream-fed past an exposure zone formed by a stationary scan/illumination assembly. The scanning system includes a scan/illumination assembly which moves beneath a stationary platen during a first, copying mode. When the mode of operation changes and the documents are stream-fed along the platen surface, the illumination/scan assembly is held stationary during each exposure cycle but is periodically moved to new positions during subsequent exposure cycles. A system controller monitors the stream-fed mode of operation and adjusts system timing and registration functions to compensate for the alternate scan/illumination exposure positions.

An automated process and apparatus is provided for establishing the basic xerographic operating parameters for an electrophotographic printing machine. The document scanning means is used in a setup mode to generate test patches of varying density on the machine photoreceptor. The levels are measured and compared to present values stored in a digital controller memory until convergence is obtained along three separate points on the PIDC curve. The controller adjusts the system parameters of charge circuit, developer bias and system exposure in an iterative process and corresponding to the photo-induced discharge curve for the particular machine.

Corner lamp

A corner bracket having a cross member and mounting arms at right angles with each other is arranged to be fastened at any desired height in a corner of a room. A lamp housing interengages with the bracket snugly in the corner and has right angled rear walls and a downwardly directed configuration including an interiorly contained screw socket. A bulb for fostering plant growth fits in the socket entirely within the housing. A lamp cord depends from the rear of the housing while corner molding is provided for decoratively concealing the lamp cord between the housing and the floor of the room.
