The present disclosure is directed to bottles that are configured to undergo a controlled collapse in response to pressure being placed on the front and rear walls manually by a user, vacuum forces acting inside the bottle during a tube feeding process, or both. The bottles include a rigid hanging element that is molded into an access channel provided on the base of the bottle, such that the top and sides of the hanging element are fixedly connected with a surface of the container. Due to the presence of the hanging element, the bottle includes hinge lines focus the collapse in the central area of the bottle between the hanging element and the shoulder of the bottle. Accordingly, the present bottles provide both a rigid hanging element and walls that collapse in a controlled manner.

The present disclosure is directed to a bottle made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and having a circular cross-section. The bottle has a sidewall spanning between a neck finish and a base. The sidewall includes a shoulder portion and a panel portion, with the lower end of the shoulder portion and the upper end of the panel portion each sloping inward to create a waist. One or more circumferential ribs are positioned within the waist, and preferably at the trough of the waist. The one or more circumferential ribs are designed and configured to increase the hoop strength of the bottle, the vacuum stability of the bottle, or both.

A container for holding granular or powdered material. The container includes walls, a collar, a lid and a latch. The walls define an interior space and an upper portion, the upper portion defining a sealing flange and an opening to the interior space. The collar is attached to the upper portion. The lid is attached to the collar for positioning between an open position and a closed position, and adapted to cover the opening while in the closed position. The latch is attached to an outer surface of the lid. The latch may have an actuator rotatable in two directions relative to the lid and detachably engaged to a catch which protrudes from an outside surface of the collar.
