Devices, systems, and methods for monitoring patient hemodynamic status, systemic vascular resistance, reversal of cardiac and respiratory rates, and patient respiratory volume or effort are disclosed. A peripheral venous pressure is measured and used to detect levels, changes, or problems relating to patient blood volume. The peripheral venous pressure measurement is transformed from the time domain to the frequency domain for analysis. A heart rate frequency is identified, and harmonics of the heart rate frequency are detected and evaluated to determine, among other things, hypovolemia or hypervolemia, systemic vascular resistance, and of cardiac and respiratory rates, and patient respiratory volume or effort.

System and method for monitoring and determining patient parameters from sensed venous waveform

A pharmacy system for the automated transfer and processing of electronic medication order information to and from a computerized patient care system associated with a healthcare facility includes a pharmacy engine configured to receive a first HL7 message including information relating to an electronic medication order for a medication that is to be prepared for intravenous administration to a patient, and transmit a second HL7 message including information relating to preparation of the medication corresponding to the electronic medication order, the information from the second HL7 message being used to bill for the medication corresponding to the electronic medication order. The pharmacy system also includes a pharmacy computer configured to process the electronic medication order, including identifying one or more ingredients required to prepare the medication corresponding to the electronic medication order and a pharmacy workstation configured to provide instructions for preparing the medication corresponding to the electronic medication order.

A therapy management development platform includes a pump controller coupled to an interface module. The interface module includes an interface module controller and a module-sensor input/output interface including at least one standardized input port, output port and power connection. The interface module is also customizably programmed to receive data from a sensor and to provide instructions to the pump controller to vary the operation of a pump coupled thereto according to one of a plurality of levels of functionality. A system is disclosed having a server, a dialysis machine configured to connect to the server through a network and client device configured to connect to the server through the network. In one embodiment, the server is configured to maintain an access list to determine whether the client device is authorized to connect to the dialysis machine. The server is further configured to provide a connection for transfer of data between the dialysis machine and the client device. An intravenous ('IV') liquid delivery system includes: an IV pump tubing set; a shuttle pump or membrane pump actuator operable with the IV pump tubing set; upstream and downstream valve actuators operable with the IV pump tubing set; the IV pump tubing set including an air removal device; an air detector configured to sense air in the IV pump tubing set; a control unit configured and arranged to (i) open the upstream valve actuator and close the downstream valve actuator to allow the pump actuator to draw liquid into a pump actuation portion of the IV pump tubing set, and (ii) close the upstream valve actuator and open the downstream valve actuator to allow the pump actuator to push liquid out of the pump actuation portion, the system configured to attempt to remove the air via the air removal device while operating the upstream and downstream valve actuators according to (i) and (ii).

Intravenous pumping air management systems and methods

A battery management method for one or more batteries in a healthcare delivery system is provided. The method includes determining when the healthcare delivery system is drawing power from the one or more batteries and controlling a display unit coupled to the controller to display an initial number corresponding to a time remaining on battery (TROB) when the healthcare delivery system is drawing power from the one or more batteries. The method also includes determining if the TROB is within a reserve range extending up to a reserve range maximum that is less than a maximum TROB, changing the TROB according to an operational state of the healthcare delivery system if the TROB is greater than the reserve range maximum, and decreasing the TROB to count down the TROB without regard for the operational state of the healthcare delivery system if the TROB is less than the reserve range maximum.

A drug infusion system includes a first infusion pump including a processor and a user interface in operable communication with the processor, and a second infusion pump, wherein the processor of the first infusion pump (i) enables an operator to make a selection using the user interface, the selection specifying a combination of a plurality of drugs to be delivered to a patient using the first and second infusion pumps, and (ii) commands the first infusion pump to deliver one or more drug of the combination to the patient and the second infusion pump to deliver one or more drug of the combination to the patient.
