A cup trip assembly is disclosed for use on bag-in-the-box and membrane type beverage containers of the type having an outlet nozzle with a manually operable dispensing valve carried at the end thereof. The cup trip assembly comprises a mounting collar adapted to releasably encircle and lock to the nozzle at a location adjacent the dispensing valve. A transversely extending operating member is pivotally carried by the mounting collar at a location axially outward of the nozzle. The operating member has operating fingers extending rearwardly therefrom for engagement with the dispensing valve for moving the valve to an open position when the operating member is rotated in a first direction and moving the valve to a closed position when the operating member is rotated in a second direction. A cup trip lever is joined to and depends from the operating member to a position subjacent the dispensing valve where movement of a cup to a beverage receiving position beneath the dispensing valve causes movement of the cup trip lever to rotate the operating member in the first direction.

Cup trip assembly

A dispensing valve comprises a first body portion having a connecting assembly for joining to a fluid outlet. A second body portion comprises a relatively rigid, elongated member having a lateral side wall terminating in a free end. A discharge orifice is formed in the lateral side wall of the second body portion. Mounted on the second body portion in tightly encircling relationship to sealingly overlie the discharge orifice and prevent fluid flow therethrough is a resilient tubular member. An operating handle is joined to the tubular member for selectively and resiliently deflecting the tubular member away from the discharge orifice to permit flow therethrough.

Dispensing valve with elastic sealing tube

Dispensing valves particularly intended for use on bag-in-the-box type beverage containers comprise a molded one piece structure formed of a resinous plastic material. The structure includes a body defining a fluid passageway having an inlet end and an outlet end. The body also includes a first wall member having an orifice through which the outlet end of the fluid passageway opens. The first wall member defines a first surface extending laterally outwardly of the orifice. A second wall member is molded integrally with the first wall member from a resilient material capable of undergoing significant elastic deformation. The second wall member sealingly overlies the orifice and is joined to the first wall at locations laterally outwardly of the orifice throughout a major circumferential extent. Operating device is provided for selectively deflecting the second wall member away from the orifice to permit flow through the orifice and between the first and second wall members.

One piece dispensing valve

A valve structure formed from a single tubular plastic component having two integral tube sections. A first section includes a flow orifice. The second section constitutes the valve element for controlling flow through the orifice by being inverted relative to the first section to overlie the orifice in sealing relationship thereto. In the preferred embodiments of the specification, the second section is invaginated into a compressed position within the first section.
