A first mobile device resource provisioning system of a first party provisions resources to a plurality of remotely-located mobile computing devices. The remotely-located mobile computing devices each use a first native operating system. The provisioning system includes a non-transitory computer readable storage medium that stores resources for provisioning to at least one mobile device, the resources comprising at least one mobile software application, application data, computer program code, at least one media file, and at least one URL. At least one mobile device registry stores mobile device information associated with at least one of a plurality of said mobile devices. The provisioning system validates a requesting mobile device using authorization information at least in part based on a provisioning key received from the requesting mobile before sending a requested resource to the validated mobile device.

A provisioning system of a first party provisions a mobile software application to one or more remotely-located mobile computing devices, each mobile computing device running a same device-native mobile operating system. The mobile software application may include executable program code and a structured document such that the executable program code and structured document together instantiate at least a portion of the functionality provided by the mobile application. Moreover, in some embodiments, when the requested and sent mobile application is executed by a requesting mobile device, the structured document is transformed into a tree structure which when updated, updates at least in part the running state of the mobile application.

System and method for provisioning a mobile software application to a mobile device

A provisioning system of a first party provisions a mobile software application to one or more remotely-located mobile computing devices, each mobile computing device running a same device-native mobile operating system (OS). A provisioning system provisions a mobile software application to one or more remotely-located mobile computing devices. The remotely-located mobile computing devices may each have a native operating system. The mobile software application may include executable program code and a structured document such that the executable program code and structured document together instantiate at least a portion of the functionality provided by the mobile application. Methods and systems for the provisioning and execution of a mobile software application

Embodiments of the invention provide methods and supporting systems for programmatically inserting highly-relevant content ('inserted content' or 'display items') into existing electronic content (&#x201c;native content&#x201d;) such as websites and WAP-enabled domains. The addition of the content considers various attributes of the native content into which the inserted content is to be placed, the user viewing the content, the device on which the content is being placed, the structure of the content, metadata related to the content and/or the content domain, the inserted content itself, as well as many other attributes that may be specific to the instance, or, in some cases, may even be random. The insertion process also uses an insertion strategy to direct how, when and in what form the inserted content is placed into the native content. The dynamic placement includes of creating a content display slot within the content at which display items may be incorporated into the content wherein the content display slot is not defined in the native content and is based at least in part on attributes of the content structure.

Systems and methods for integrating dynamic content into electronic media

The provisioning source sends the requested mobile software application to the mobile computing device. When executed, the downloaded mobile software application will perform a method for using the mobile software application on the mobile computing device, the mobile software application including programming code and at least one extensible markup language (XML) document that together describe at least a portion of functionality provided by the mobile software application. Upon execution of the mobile software application, an abstraction layer populates a Document Object Model ('DOM') structure at least in part representing the running state of the mobile software application. The abstraction layer receives user input and reconfigures the DOM based upon the input.

A method for enabling the provisioning and execution of a platform-independent application includes receiving, by a mobile computing device, from a provisioning source, an XML document describing at least a portion of functionality provided by an application. An abstraction layer executing on the mobile computing device populates a Document Object Model ('DOM') structure at least in part representing the running state of the application consistent with the received XML document. The abstraction layer presents a device-appropriate application user interface responsive to the DOM structure. The application receives a user input from within the rendered application user interface. Programming code referenced by the DOM receives, from the abstraction layer, the input event. The programming code reconfigures the DOM, in response to the received input event to reflect a response by the application to the input. The abstraction layer updates the device-appropriate application user interface, responsive to the reconfiguring of the DOM.

A method for enabling the creation and management of a platform-independent application whose appearance and functionality is consistently propagated across heterogeneous device types includes receiving, by a device, a platform-independent data superstructure defining application appearance and behavior, the platform-independent data superstructure storing an application state, program code and internal logic of the application. A superstructure-dedicated operating system instantiates the application in the device according to the platform-independent data superstructure. The platform-independent data superstructure receives, from a device-native operating system via communication with the superstructure-dedicated operating system, at least one application event generated by an execution of the instantiated application and representative of an update to the application state. The platform-independent data superstructure updates information in a first segment of the platform-independent data superstructure associated with the at least one application event and updates, in accordance with the superstructure segment update, the application state in the device.
