The present invention provides an electrical connector including a housing defining a receptacle extending to an opening and a cavity block assembly retained in the receptacle. The cavity block assembly includes a base seated in the receptacle and a terminal inserter attached to the base and moveable in a terminal insertion direction from a pre-staged inserter position to a final inserter position. In an exemplary embodiment, a plurality of terminal passages extend in parallel through the base and terminal inserter. When the terminal inserter is in the pre-staged position, terminals may be inserted into the passages to a range of partially inserted positions with respect to the housing or to fully inserted positions. Preferably after all of the terminals are inserted, an urging force is applied to the terminal inserter causing it to move from the pre-staged position to the final position. Simultaneously, the terminal inserter biases any terminal that is located in the range of partially inserted positions to a fully inserted position.

Electrical connector with terminal position assurance

A multi-pin electrical connector including a first connector portion and a second connector portion. Seal retaining rings snapped into the connector portions seal and retain cavity terminal blocks located within each respective connector portion. A locking collar employs a ramped locking feature to snap and secure the first and second connector portions in an interlocked, assembled state. The multi-pin electrical connector can be composed entirely of non-metallic components.

Heavy duty electrical connector

A molded twist-lock connector for use in connecting electrical components is composed of a cylindrical connector housing and a cylindrical locking collar, wherein the connector housing has formed therein a plurality of outwardly extending tabs slidably engaged within corresponding circumferentially-elongated slits formed in the locking collar. The tabs are slidably movable within the slits so as to render the locking collar rotatable from an unlocked position to a locked position. The unlocked position of the collar exists when the tabs abut against a first lateral side of the slits and the locked position of the collar exists when the tabs abut against an opposite second lateral side of the slits. The connector is in an unlocked state when the locking collar is disposed in the unlocked position and in a locked state when the collar is disposed in the locked position. The connector is formed as a unit in a single mold, with the tabs being engaged within the slits upon formation of the connector. The connector is particularly useful in automotive applications.

Twist-lock connector

A control system is used with an associated mower having a cutting blade, a drive shaft for rotating the cutting blade, first and second drive wheels, and a power train for driving the first and second drive wheels. The control system has an electric clutch for selectively coupling the cutting blade to the drive shaft, first and second handles for independently driving the first and second drive wheels, first and second switches selectively switchable between first and second positions, a relay for electrically connecting the first and second switches to the electric clutch and control rods for mechanically connecting the first and second handles to the first and second switches. First and second handles are placeable into reverse positions. This causing first and second bell cranks to rotate about a control shaft which lifts first and second control rods. When the control rods are lifted, first and second switches are switched and power is disconnected to the electric clutch. The cutting blade is thereby detached from the drive shaft.

Control system and method for stopping the rotation of a cutting blade

An adjustable seat assembly and method of assembly for a riding lawn mower having at least one channel in a seat bracket whereby the operator can manually adjust the position of the seat. Guideposts located on the lower surface of the seat slide within the channel and provide support against a rocking motion. A lever attached to a seat bracket locks the seat in a position comfortable for the operator. The method includes assembling the seat to the seat bracket without the use of tools.
