A trusted workstation includes a network interface card (NIC) with trusted computing base (TCB) extensions that provide for securely booting the workstation and performing subsequent receive and transmit packet filtering in support of a network's system architecture requirements. The NIC includes a send address confirm circuit which includes a trusted source address (e.g., a MAC address) uniquely associated with the trusted workstation. For each packet to be transmitted from the trusted workstation over the network, the NIC first checks the source address inserted in the packet by the NIC driver running in the user session to be sure that the driver inserted source address is to equal to the trusted address resident. Thus, if untrusted software on the workstation attempts mischiefly transmit a forged packet with a source address other than the trusted source address, the NIC prohibits transmission of the packet with the forged source address. This prevents the trusted workstation from forging its packets with another client's source address. The NIC also includes a receive address confirmation circuit which ensures that the trusted workstation only receives packets from authorized servers.

Trusted workstation in a networked client/server computing system

A shower curtain is formed of a plurality of hanging panels which are attached to a track member for automatic deployment between a retracted, or drying, arrangement and an extended, or barrier, arrangement. Each panel has an ogee, or 'S', shape. A plurality of sliding portions, with a panel attached thereto, engage the track member for displacement therealong. Two connectors couple each adjacent pair of sliding portions to provide the desired automatic rotation to the sliding portions and the panels attached thereto. One of these connectors is fixedly positioned relative to one of the pair of sliding portions to convey rotational movement thereto. The second of these connectors is pivotally positioned relative to the second of the pair of sliding portions. The connectors are pivotally coupled together distal from their respective coupling to the respective sliding portions.

A barrier to restrict the distribution of water during a showering procedure comprising moveable ogee, S-shaped, panels along a tract housing to be mounted above the opening to the showering area. A mechanism within the tract housing allows for distributing the panels across the opening, followed by rotation of the panels along their vertical axis line perpendicular to the horizontal, to form the barrier. During the retracted open position, the panels are not in contact one with the next. Similarly in the extended open position prior to rotation, the panels are not in contract one with the next. Adequate ventilation is provided to significantly reduce the growth of molds or funguses associated with showering areas.
