Disclosed are various embodiments that employ application fingerprinting and lifestyle fingerprinting, where each application fingerprint is associated with a corresponding application and is generated based at least in part on a static analysis and a dynamic analysis of the corresponding application. In one embodiment, an identification of an application is received, and a group of users are determined that have a preference for the application based at least in part on lifestyle fingerprint data and application fingerprint data. Correspondingly, a particular user is identified with a lifestyle fingerprint that is similar to lifestyle fingerprints of the group of users, whereby the particular application is transmitted to the particular user.

Application recommendations based on application and lifestyle fingerprinting

Disclosed are various embodiments for developing versions of applications based on application fingerprinting. For example, an application may be ported from one operating system platform to another, or an application may be modified to be compatible with a specific device. In one embodiment, an application fingerprint is received for an application. The application fingerprint may be generated based at least in part on a static analysis of the application and a dynamic analysis of the application. A device that is incompatible with the application based at least in part on the application fingerprint may be determined. A modification to the application to make the application compatible with the device may be determined.

Developing versions of applications based on application fingerprinting

A domain name registration service is described that identifies a domain name source, identifies domain name candidates from the domain name source, and automatically registers any available candidates as domain names. A domain name source may be any source of information from which a set of alphanumeric (and possibly non-ASCII) characters can be acquired. Once candidate domain names have been registered by the domain name service, they may be used by the registrant or offered to third parties. Since such uses may generate revenue for the registrant, such uses may be referred to as 'monetization' of the automatically registered domain names.

Disclosed are various embodiments that employ application fingerprinting and lifestyle fingerprinting. Application fingerprints are received, where each application fingerprints is associated with a corresponding application and is generated based at least in part on a static analysis, a dynamic analysis, and a behavioral analysis of the corresponding application. A selection of an application is received. Applications that are similar to the selected application are determined by comparing a particular application fingerprint that is associated with the selected application with other application fingerprints. Users are determined based at least in part on lifestyle fingerprints. In one embodiment, such users may be invited to test the selected application.

Systems and associated processes are disclosed for generating recommendations for users based on the computing device likely to be utilized by the user to execute an application, among other things. These systems and processes are described in the context of an interactive computing system that enables users to download applications for mobile devices or for other computing devices. The performance of applications running on the user's computing device can be monitored with the performance data being collected and provided to the interactive computing system. The interactive computing system can include a recommendation system or service that processes the performance data and using the performance data, among possibly other data, the recommendation system can recommend alternative applications to the user for download. Further, in some cases, the interactive computing system can recommend modifications to the user's computing device to improve the performance of the application running on the user's computing device.
