Systems and methods for identifying shareable airborne radar spectrum are disclosed. The system may include an Airborne Radar Sensing Capability (AR-SC) system that performs a method including: receiving, from a sensor, information indicative of an active airborne radar, the information comprising at least: an identification of the sensor; determining one or more frequencies affected by the active airborne radar; and determining whether the active airborne radar is associated with a specific aircraft; if the active airborne radar is associated with a specific aircraft: determining a location of the aircraft; and reporting, to a spectrum controller, (i) the one or more affected frequencies, and (ii) the location of the aircraft; if the active airborne radar is not associated with a specific aircraft: reporting, to a spectrum controller, the one or more affected frequencies.

Systems and methods for identifying and sharing airborne radar spectrum

A system and computerized method for controlling access to shared spectrum in which access is prioritized among different classes of devices so that top priority devices have immediate access to the shared spectrum and lower priority devices contend for access. In some embodiments, the system and computerized method comprises managing a set of priority classes of devices to use the shared spectrum and granting rights to one or more of the requesting devices to use a portion of the shared spectrum during a requested use period based on a decision making process.

Computerized methods and apparatus for spectrum access

An improved system architecture for making spectrum information available to one or more devices and for providing and using the spectrum information at a device. The improved architecture employs an arrangement of software processes that interact to provide a flexible and highly-configurable technique for controlling access to spectrum information. To that end, a spectrum information server executes a server process having a library of spectrum-related functions including, for example, functions for retrieving spectrum data from spectrum data sources and/or for processing retrieved spectrum data. The spectrum information server also executes one or more device host processes configured to communicate with at least one compatible device process executing on a spectrum-aware (SA) device. In an illustrative embodiment, a device process on the SA device may request spectrum information from a device host process on the spectrum information server. The device host process receives the request and may generate a function call that it sends to the server process, which executes an associated function from its library of spectrum-related functions. The execution of the function may cause the server process to retrieve certain spectrum data from a spectrum data source. The server process may return the retrieved spectrum data to the device host process, which in turn sends the requested spectrum information to the device process for presentation to a user.
