A data center cabinet has an equipment rail movably secured to front-to-back beams by a retaining mechanism. The retaining mechanism has a threaded member extending through a front-to-back beam and the equipment rail and a handle rotatable relative to the threaded member. A first cam disk is positioned between the handle and equipment rail and is fixed to the equipment rail and a second cam disk is positioned between the handle and first cam disk and is fixed to the handle. First and second surfaces of the first and second cam disks are engaged with the handle in a first position to provide a clamping force between the equipment rail and front-to-back beam to prevent movement of the equipment rail and the first and second cam surfaces are disengaged with the handle in a second position to remove the clamping force to allow movement of the equipment rail.

A data center cabinet has a base frame and a top cap attached to the base frame. The top cap has a main panel having a front edge, rear edge, first side edge, a second side edge, top surface, and bottom surface. A removable door is positioned over the opening and is hinged to the main panel such that the door can rotate between an open position and a closed position and be removed from the main panel.

Certain embodiments of the present invention provide a cooling duct assembly for electronic equipment installed in a cabinet. The cooling duct assembly comprises at least one main duct in fluid communication with a front portion of the cabinet. The at least one main duct receives cold air from the front portion of the cabinet and routes the cold air toward a back portion of the cabinet. Additionally, the cooling duct assembly comprises at least one side duct in fluid communication with the at least one main duct. The at least one side duct receives the cold air from the at least one main duct and routes the cold air to at least one side air intake opening on the electronic equipment.

Certain embodiments of the present invention provide an apparatus for closing off an opening above, below, or between electronic equipment in a rack. The rack includes a pair of equipment rails. The electronic equipment is mounted to the equipment rails. The apparatus includes a base, a roller shade, and a handle. The roller shade is rotatably connected to the base and includes a free end extending from the base when the roller shade is rotated. The handle is connected to the free end of the roller shade. The base is removably connected to the equipment rails at a first position. The handle is removably connected to the equipment rails at a second position spaced apart from the first position such that the free end of the roller shade is extended to close off the opening in the rack.
