A method of custom manufacturing a flame arrestor assembly configured to extinguish a flame propagating therethrough. The method includes creating a customized flame cell using an additive manufacturing technique, which generally includes forming a body and forming one or more channels in the body. The one or more channels define a flow path configured to transfer heat from a flame front propagating through the flow path to the body. The method also includes providing a housing, and securely arranging the flame cell within the housing.

Method for manufacturing a flame arrestor

A method of custom manufacturing a flame arrestor includes providing a housing having an interior surface and an exterior surface where the exterior surface of the housing is shaped to fit within a fluid passageway. The method includes forming, using an additive manufacturing technique, a three-dimensional lattice structure by depositing a first material onto the interior surface of the housing in a predetermined pattern. The lattice structure includes a plurality of connected lattice members forming channels extending from a first end to a second end of the three-dimensional lattice structure. An element of a second material is provided adjacent to the three-dimensional lattice structure. The second material is different than the first material and the element is configured to draw heat away from fluid flowing through the plurality of channels.

A valve includes a valve body forming a channel defining a fluid flow path extending from an inlet port to an outlet port of the valve body via a gallery disposed therebetween, an opening disposed in communication with the gallery, a valve assembly at least partially disposed through the opening and in the gallery, and a set pin having a central longitudinal axis. A valve disc of the valve assembly moves between a first position spaced from a valve seat of the valve body and a second position in contact with the valve seat. The set pin is coupled to and at least partly supported by the valve assembly to maintain the valve assembly in the first position. The fluid flow path allows a fluid to flow through the valve body in a first direction and a second direction opposite the first direction. The set pin is adapted to disengage a portion of the valve assembly when contacted by a fluid traversing the fluid flow path in the second direction, allowing the valve disc to move to the second position.

A valve includes a valve body forming a channel defining a fluid flow path from inlet to outlet ports of the valve body via a gallery disposed therebetween, an opening disposed in communication with the gallery, a valve assembly at least partially disposed through the opening and in the gallery, and a fusible element. A valve disc of the valve assembly moves between a first position spaced from a valve seat of the valve body and a second position contacting the valve seat. The fusible element is coupled to and at least partly supported by the valve assembly to maintain the valve assembly in the first position. The fluid flow path allows fluid to flow through the valve body in a first direction and a second, opposite direction. The fusible element fails when contacted by fluid traversing the fluid flow path in the second direction, allowing the valve disc to move to the second position.

Pin release thermal valve

A flame cell of a flame arrestor may include a body of a first material having a first end, a second end, and a plurality of channels formed in the body and extending from the first end to the second end of the body. The flame cell may also include an element of a second material coupled to the body, the second material being different from the first material. The element may be configured to draw heat away from fluid flowing through the plurality of channels.

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed toward a pressure vacuum relief valve and a seal assembly of the pressure vacuum relief valve. The seal assembly includes a ribbed substrate disposed against a flanged seat of the pressure vacuum relief valve. The ribbed substrate includes ribs extending from a base of the ribbed substrate. The seal assembly also includes a pallet coupled to and disposed below the ribbed substrate. The pallet includes a top ring, a bottom ring, and a flexible diaphragm captured between the top ring and the bottom ring. The flexible diaphragm of the pallet is configured to seal against the ribbed substrate in a sealed position. The pallet and ribbed substrate are configured to move together away from the flanged seat when a pressure on a sealed side of the pressure vacuum relief valve exceeds a maximum pressure threshold. The pallet is also configured to pivot open at an angle relative to the sealed position of the pallet when the pressure on the sealed side of the pressure vacuum relief valve falls below a minimum pressure threshold.

Pressure vacuum relief valve

A mounting assembly is provided for coupling a monitoring device to a valve assembly for relieving vacuum and over pressure conditions in a storage container. The valve assembly includes a body including a first port adapted to be in fluid communication with the storage container and a first valve seat disposed in the body, and a first control assembly including a first valve stem and a first closure element coupled to the first valve stem, the first closure member being movable relative to the first valve seat in response to changes in pressure in the container. The mounting assembly includes a mounting bracket adapted to be coupled to a portion of the body and a mounting tube configured to be slidably coupled to the mounting bracket. The mounting tube is adapted to receive the monitoring device, which is configured to obtain data indicative of the operation of the valve assembly.

Pressure vacuum relief valve providing monitoring capabilities

An example apparatus includes a disc-shaped valve plug having a first metallic sealing surface extending circumferentially about a peripheral edge of the valve plug. The first metallic sealing surface has a first curved profile. The example apparatus further includes a valve seat defining an orifice and having a second metallic sealing surface having a second curved profile that is complementary to the first curved profile so that the first and second metallic sealing surfaces form a metal-to-metal seal when the first and second metallic sealing surfaces are in contact.
