A receptacle connector includes an outer housing, an inner housing, and an interface seal. The outer housing defines a cavity configured to receive a plug connector through a mating opening of the outer housing. The inner housing is disposed within the cavity of the outer housing. The inner housing holds a contact subassembly that is connected to a cable. The inner housing includes a sleeve that surrounds a mating section of the contact subassembly. The sleeve is spaced apart from an interior surface of the outer housing by an annular gap. The interface seal is on an outer surface of the sleeve. The interface seal engages an inner surface of a nose of the plug connector within the annular gap to seal an interface between the sleeve of the inner housing and the nose of the plug connector.

Sealed connector system

An electrical connector includes a housing having an upper wall and a first protrusion and a CPA element slidably coupled to the housing along the upper wall between an extended position and an inserted position. The CPA element includes a base and a first beam extending from the base having a first arm and a first finger including an abutment wall configured to abut against the first protrusion and a tip configured to be engaged by a mating connector when received in the housing. The tip is deflected from a blocked position to a released position with the distal end engaging the protrusion in the blocked position and the tip being deflected outside of the protrusion to the released position where the tip is able to clear past the protrusion to allow the CPA element to be moved from the extended position to the inserted position. The CPA may be configured so that in the extended position it is to block release of a pivotal latch used to retain the connector to a mating connector.

Electrical connector having a connector position assurance element

An electrical connector includes a housing and a connector position assurance (CPA) element. The CPA element includes a beam that is deflected from a blocked position to a clearance position by a mating connector that is loaded into a cavity of the housing. When the beam is in the blocked position, movement of the CPA element from an extended position to an inserted position is mechanically blocked by a protrusion of the housing that abuts the beam. The beam of the CPA element, when moved to the clearance position, clears the protrusion to allow the CPA element to move from the extended position to the inserted position. The housing may include a pair of such deflectable beams, each with a slot having an opening at its distal end. The opening of one of the beams aligns with the protrusion when the beam is deflected to its clearance position.

Connector system with connector position assurance

A housing is provided for use in an electrical connector. The housing includes an electrically conductive body having a mating end and a conductor exiting end, the mating end configured for coupling a mating connector. An electrically conductive flange is disposed between the mating end and the conductor exiting end in electrical communication with the body. The flange extends through an opening formed in an electrically conductive member and is detachably securable to the electrically conductive member for maintaining electrical communication between the member and the body.

Panel mount electrical connector

An electrical connector assembly including a housing and a retainer releasably supported by the housing is provided. The retainer includes a clip receiver configured to retain a supporting clip and a lock configured to engage an electrical connector for restricting axial movement thereof relative to the housing.

Connector assembly including provision for body clip

A housing is provided for use in an electrical connector assembly. The housing includes a body having at least one axial passageway for receiving an electrical connector. A position assurance device extends into at least one axial passageway and is configured to engage a shoulder of the electrical connector to restrict axial movement thereof. A secondary position assurance device is received in the body engaging a shoulder of the electrical connector to restrict axial movement thereof.

Three position electrical connector assembly

A housing is provided for use in an electrical connector. The housing includes an electrically conductive body having a first mating end and a second mating end. The first mating end is configured for coupling an electrical connector. The second mating end is configured for coupling an electrical board assembly. An electrically conductive flange extends from the body in electrical communication with the body. The flange extends through an opening formed in an electrically conductive member and is detachably securable to the electrically conductive member for maintaining electrical communication between the member and the body.

Panel mount connector housing

A coaxial plug assembly is shown provided with a main housing which houses a coaxial plug connector. A retention housing is provided which latches to the main housing and which retains the coaxial connector in place. In some embodiments, the retention housing includes an integral locking plate to which a cable exit member can be attached for orienting the cable exit in a 90&#xb0; angle exit relative to the coaxial connector. In another embodiment a locking plate is integrally attached to the coaxial cable sleeve and includes a cable exit portion which is latchingly connected to the locking part.

Cable exit for an electrical connector assembly

An electrical connector assembly including a housing for receiving a plurality of electrical connectors is disclosed. A connector position assurance device (CPA) is configured to be received within the housing and to restrict axial movement of the electrical connectors. The electrical connectors include shells having shoulders configured to be received within non-cylindrical portions of axial passageways formed within the housing.

An electrical connector includes an outer shell defining an inner cavity, wherein the outer shell includes a shell alignment element and a solder tab having a substantially flat solder tab engagement surface for surface mounting to a circuit board. An inner member is received within the inner cavity, and the inner member includes a dielectric member having a dielectric alignment element engaging the shell alignment element for positioning the dielectric member with respect to the outer shell. The dielectric member includes a contact cavity extending axially through the dielectric member. A contact is received within the contact cavity, and the contact includes a contact engagement surface for surface mounting to the circuit board. The contact and solder tab engagement surfaces are aligned in a predetermined planar arrangement.

Surface mount electrical connector

Right angle apparatus, methods and articles of manufacture for connecting electrical components are disclosed. The preferred embodiments comprise a printed circuit board body element, grounding and keying elements, used to connect printed circuit boards with cables and the like. The preferred embodiments provide a grounded connection to a vehicle chassis or other ground.

Right angle printed circuit board connector apparatus, methods and articles of manufacture

An electrical connector assembly is provided having a connector position assurance device (CPA) and a plug and header that have mating interfaces that interconnect to form an electrical connection therebetween. A deflectable latch assembly is mounted on an exterior surface of one of the plug and header and comprises at least one latch beam that is deflectable from side-to-side relative to the plug and header along an axis transverse to the direction of engagement between the plug and header. A CPA is provided having a beam blocking portion that blocks lateral movement of the latch assembly.

Electrical connector assembly with a laterally deflectable latch member and CPA

A locking electrical connector is provided including a connector shell extending along a longitudinal axis, an outer contact held in the connector shell and having a mating end formed with retention beams that are deflectable radially outward from the longitudinal axis, and a collar located about the outer contact and the connector shell being slidable along the longitudinal axis relative to the connector shell between locked and unlocked positions. The collar has a blocking surface that is positioned to align with and block radially outward deflection of the retention beams when the collar is in the locked position. The blocking surface is moved, when the collar is in the unlocked position, to a position at which the collar permits radial outward deflection of the retention beams.

Lockable electrical connector

Apparatus, methods and articles of manufacture for a coaxial cable connector that allows variable wire termination orientations are disclosed. A connector housing is used to install the embodiments upon a mating connector, with a cable housing providing contact for a coax cable. A core member provides connection for an inner conductor, and a cap is used to seal the connector, once the cable is installed within the cable housing.
