A pleated filter media configured to receive a stream of fluid flowing in a first direction is provided. The pleated filter media includes a first filter media panel and a second filter media panel coupled to the first filter media panel at a first pleat extending in a second direction transverse to the first direction. The pleated filter media also includes a first embossment disposed on the first filter media panel and the second filter media panel. The first embossment extends in a third direction transverse to the first direction and the second direction.

Filter media having angled embossments

A fluid filter assembly includes a housing, a proximal end cap, and a nut plate. The housing defines a longitudinal axis and includes an inner surface. The inner surface surrounds the longitudinal axis and defines a hook portion. The proximal end cap is disposed within the housing and includes a flange engaging the inner surface of the housing. The nut plate is disposed within the housing and includes a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end engages the hook portion of the housing. The distal end engages the proximal end cap.

J-hook filter assembly

A spin-on filter includes a housing and a cover plate defining a central opening. The housing has a closed end a circumferential wall extending from the closed end to an open end and circumscribes an internal chamber configured to receive a filter element. The cover plate includes a substantially planar outer surface extending radially outward from the central opening to an outer circumferential wall. The spin-on filter also includes a series of engagement tabs integrally formed with one of the outer circumferential wall of the cover plate or the interior wall of the housing. Each engagement tab is configured to mate with corresponding ones of a series of receiving slots formed within the other one of the outer circumferential wall of the cover plate or the interior wall of the housing when the cover plate and the housing are axially pressed together to secure the cover plate to the open end of the housing.

Spin-on filter using snap-fit

Air filter elements with primary filter medias have foam pre-cleaners with an increased surface area provided by an upstream face which has peaks and valleys. In one embodiment, the peaks and valleys are defined by parallel ribs. If the filter element is a panel-type filter element having a pleated primary filter media, then, in accordance with one embodiment, the pre-cleaner is secured to the primary filter media by adhesive deposits on the peaks of the primary filter media. If the filter element is annular, the pre-cleaner is also annular and is slid axially over a perforated sleeve or screen on the primary filter media and held thereon by friction. By having the upstream surface of the foam pre-cleaner configured in peaks and valleys, the surface area of the upstream surface is increased substantially, which improves the capacity, efficiency and life of the filter element.
