The disclosed embodiments relate to a computer-based system and/or method which automatically, e.g. with minimal, or entirely without, human intervention, identifies, distinguishes, disambiguates or otherwise differentiates among multiple configurable bicycles based on the data reported to the system from the bicycle's data-reporting components, such that the data reported by those components may be associated with a particular bicycle for real-time and/or later review, analysis, etc. More particularly, where one or more data reporting components of a bicycle may change, the disclosed embodiments enable a data gathering system/service to identify, distinguish, disambiguate or otherwise differentiate among multiple bicycles which may use, or have used, one or more of the same components so as to associate the reported data, such as from a particular ride, with the correct bicycle configuration for real-time and/or later review and/or analysis.

Component based automated identification of a configurable vehicle

A chainring assembly includes a chainring carrier adapted to be coupled to a crank arm. The chainring carrier is rotatable about a rotation axis, and includes an outer periphery having carrier threads. A chainring structure includes an inner periphery having chainring threads and an outer periphery comprising a plurality of teeth. The inner periphery of the chainring structure is threadably engaged with the outer periphery of the chainring carrier. In one embodiment, a power meter device includes a body having a torque input section and a torque output section, with the torque output section including an outer periphery having threads adapted to be coupled to a chainring structure.

Example bicycle suspension components and analysis devices are described herein. An example suspension component includes a first tube and a second tube configured in a telescopic arrangement having an interior space, a spring system including a pneumatic chamber containing a mass of a gas forming a pneumatic spring configured to resist compression of the telescopic arrangement, and a suspension component analysis (SCA) device. The SCA device may include a pressure sensor to detect a pressure of the gas in the pneumatic chamber and provide a signal indicative of the detected pressure and circuitry configured to receive the signal. The circuitry and the pressure sensor are at least partially disposed in the interior space.

A bicycle trainer has a stand, a resistance generating mechanism carried by the stand, and a decoupling hub assembly carried on the stand. The decoupling hub assembly has a torque coupler operably connected to the resistance generating mechanism. The torque coupler has a coupling portion configured to engage a coupling part of a drive body assembly on a bicycle. The coupling portion is exposed to an exterior of the stand engages the drive body assembly, which is rotationally driven by the drive train of the bicycle.

A bicycle crank arm and chainring carrier assembly. The assembly includes a crank arm. A chainring carrier is sized and shaped to connect to the crank arm. A first pairing feature is formed on one of the crank arm and the chainring carrier and a second pairing feature is formed on the other of the crank arm and the chainring carrier to position the chainring carrier on the crank arm. A clearance is defined between the first and second pairing features when the first and second pairing features are paired. A torque-transmitting coupling between the crank arm and the chainring carrier is configured to transmit substantially all of the torque applied to the chainring carrier from the crank arm.

A control system for adjusting suspension settings of a bicycle, including a bicycle sensor configured to sense a coasting condition and a non-coasting condition and generate input signals indicative of the sensed condition, and a control unit in communication with the bicycle sensor and configured to generate output signals in response to the input signals, the output signals receivable by the bicycle suspension to selectively adjust the suspension settings.

Bicycle suspension

The present application relates to an input torque measuring device for a drive train of a bicycle. The drive train includes a first crank arm and a second crank arm. An inboard end of each crank arm is rotatably mounted to the bicycle at a bottom bracket of the bicycle. At least one chain ring is configured to rotate a driven wheel of the bicycle. A spider is connected to the first crank arm adjacent the bottom bracket and extends out to the at least one chain ring. The spider is configured to transmit force applied to the crank arms directly to the at least one chain ring. The spider may include a plurality of sensors configured to respond to the force applied by the spider to the at least one chain ring. The sensors produce an electronic signal relative to the force transmitted by the spider to the at least one chain ring and a processor configured to receive the electronic signals from each sensor of the spider.

Crankset based bicycle power measurement

The present application relates to an input torque measuring device for a drive train of a bicycle. The drive train includes a first crank arm and a second crank arm. An inboard end of each crank arm is rotatably mounted to the bicycle at a bottom bracket of the bicycle. At least one chain ring is configured to rotate a driven wheel of the bicycle. A spider is connected to the first crank arm adjacent the bottom bracket and extends out to the at least one chain ring. The chain ring is attached to the spider by a fastener extending through a bushing within an opening of the spider. Sensors may be attached to the spider or the crank arms and may be directly connected to a flexible circuit board. The sensors, the flexible circuit boards and other components of the input torque measuring device may be encapsulated in a protective material.

A multi-leg equipment stand has a unitary user interface. All legs can be adjusted simultaneously, or, an individual leg can be adjusted, by distinct motions of the interface. A collar is near to an equipment support shoulder. Rotation around a vertical axis releases all legs. For a tripod, tilting the collar in one direction releases only one of three legs. The tilt may be toward the leg to be moved. The legs have adjacent, telescoping components. A control rod extends from the collar, through the hollow interior of the upper component, to a jam-plate, at the lower end of the upper component. The plate jams between an inside of the lower component, and an inside of the upper component. The rod passes through the jam-plate. Pushing the rod tilts the jam-plate, freeing it from jamming. A spring returns it to jamming if released. For each leg, the collar underside has a two level cam recess. The rods each have a cam follower surface at their shoulder end. Rotating the collar pushes each of the rods, releasing all jam-plates. Returning the collar allows the rods to move back, under influence of springs. Tilting the collar in any one of the leg directions pushes only one of the rods, tilting and releasing one jam-plate. The rod and jam-plate may be used with a single leg. The user interface can be used with two or more legs. The jam-plate may lock against a bushing, rather than directly against the upper component. Rather than rods that are pushed, cables can be pulled. Three component legs can also be activated using jam-plates.

A separating tank assembly enables a dental vacuum separating tank to be drained without using a pump and without turning off or isolating the vacuum source from the tank. A drain tank is provided in fluid communication with the separating tank, and a control valve controls a pressure differential between the drain tank and the fluid tank. When the separating tank is filling, the drain tank and separating tank pressures are equalized, and the tanks are in fluid communication. When the fluid in the drain tank reaches a predetermined level, the solenoid opens the drain tank to atmosphere, blocking fluid communication between the separating tank and the drain tank and opening fluid communication between the drain tank and a sewer drain. After the fluid is drained, the solenoid reopens fluid communication between the separating tank and the drain tank, and the pressures in the respective tanks are equalized.

A vacuum-strength measurement device is utilized to determine vacuum producer system performance specifications and system parameters. A flow ability factor can be determined that represents the effect of system piping and usage area equipment on performance. With the flow ability factor, a vacuum strength requirement can be determined to effect a target vacuum performance. For system design, design parameters can be established based on a relationship between a desired flow ability factor and an amount of vacuum strength required to match target vacuum performance.

Method for determining vacuum producer system parameters and performance specifications

A vacuum flow measurement device measures the quantity of air flowing into a high-volume evacuator (HVE) vacuum tip commonly found in dental treatment rooms. The device includes a tubular member constructed to mimic internal structural characteristics of a HVE tip. The tubular member includes a valve end coupleable with a HVE valve and an open end. A pressure gauge is connected to the tubular member via a port spaced from the open end of the tubular member. When the vacuum flow measurement device is coupled with the HVE valve, an air flow rate is determined as a function of pressure measured via the pressure gauge.
