An article of manufacture includes a first discrete inflatable body having a first core member cut from a single slab of core material and a first root portion, and further includes a second discrete inflatable body comprising a second core member cut from the single slab of core material and a second root portion. Each of the first and second core members includes a plurality of ribs, and the ribs extend laterally from the first and second root portions.

Non-exclusive and non-exhaustive examples of such thermal transmission mitigation means in array core embodiments include consideration to the geometric cross section, frequency (density), pattern and orientation of the solids, the introduction of thermal barriers within inter-solid spaces and/or solid material selection/treatment.

Resilient cores with convection barriers particularly for inflatable bodies and methods for making the same

Cellular matrices generally having a plurality of generally identical cells (open-ended geometric prisms) arranged to form a repeating geometric form, and characterized by radiant and/or convection barriers at each cell to mitigate undesired thermal transmission in a plurality of directions there through. Barriers of various embodiments include non-film sheet material, such as non-woven (e.g., spun) or batting-type sheet material as well as a foam sheet material, which may be substituted for some or all of the film material otherwise comprising the matrix, and/or integration of a thermally reflective film or coating into the matrix and/or enveloping panels of an inflatable body to provide enhanced thermal radiation mitigation means. When used in conjunction with inflatable bodies, axes of the cells are oriented parallel to exteriorly exposed panels that define the chamber of the inflatable body in which the matrix is disposed, and in certain embodiments the panels defining the chamber also comprise portions of the matrix.

Cellular matrix with integrated radiant and/or convection barriers particularly for use with inflatable bodies

A method of constructing a mattress includes placing a first ribbon about a perimeter surface of a foam member. The first ribbon includes a top lip and a bottom lip. A second ribbon is placed about a perimeter surface of the first ribbon. A third ribbon is placed about a perimeter surface of the second ribbon. The top lip of the first ribbon is folded over the top surface of the second ribbon. The bottom lip of the first ribbon is folded over the bottom surface of the second ribbon. A first fabric panel is bonded to the top surface of the first foam member and to the top lip of the first ribbon. A second fabric panel is bonded to the bottom surface of the first foam member and to the bottom lip of the first ribbon.

Air mattress and method of constructing same

The invention is directed towards a film-based polymeric cellular matrix, methods for making the polymeric cellular matrix, articles of manufacture incorporating the polymeric matrix and methods for making articles of manufacture. The polymeric cellular matrix is characterized as a plurality of generally identical cells (open-ended geometric prisms) arranged to form a repeating geometric form. The matrix is particularly suited for use as a core between two panels.

Film-based cellular matrix

Embodiments of the invention are directed to a soft shelter extension for use with a hard shelter where the hard shelter has a perimeter opening defined by a side wall and sealable by a deck rotationally coupled thereto, wherein the deck is prevented from over rotating by a pair of opposing cables linking the side wall to the deck. Such embodiments include a bow assembly having a plurality of bows wherein first ends are linkable to each other and second ends are linkable to each other, either directly or indirectly. These embodiments further include a pair of cable slide interfaces linked to respective first and second ends of the plurality of bows to receive the respective pair of cables. A flexible panel covers the bow assembly, and mates to the side wall and to the deck to form an enclosed space when the deck is rotated to a position wherein the cables are in tension.

Soft shelter extensions for recreational vehicles and the like

A multiple chamber self-inflating pad having a fluid impervious first chamber defined by a first flexible panel and an intermediate panel in which a first resilient member is disposed and to which the resilient member is bonded. An orifice is provided to control inflation or deflation of the first chamber. A second flexible panel is selectively bonded to the intermediate flexible panel preferably to form a gap or pocket into which a second resilient member may be removably disposed. Preferably, the first resilient member is an open cell foam while the second is constructed from closed cell foam. Alternative embodiments include the creation of a fluid impervious second chamber either fluidly linked to the first chamber or to the environment, alternative resilient materials, inclusion of radiant barriers, and the like.
