An automatic pump testing device is configured with controller, a pump testing station, a supply tank and a collection tank. In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, a pump testing device is configured to test various types of hand actuated pumps. In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, the pump testing device is configured to test various end of life modes, length of life, and other pump performance information, including pump performance information measured over time.

Pump tester

A flow-through pressure regulator includes a retainer that secures a diaphragm relative to a seat, and includes an intermediate portion, an end portion and a base portion. The intermediate portion extends along a longitudinal axis and is fixed with respect to the seat. The end portion extends from the intermediate portion and includes a concave surface facing the seat. The regulator includes multiple flow diffusers such that the end portion includes at least one aperture having a flow axis that is oblique to the longitudinal axis so as to reduce noise due to fluid flow and/or the seat forms a passage having an increasing cross-sectional area from an inlet to an outlet.

A check valve assembly is disclosed. A hollow valve body is provided with respective upstream and downstream ends. A valve seat is located on the interior of the valve body and has an annular seating surface directed toward the downstream end of the valve body. The seating surface is inclined at an acute angle relative to the centerline of the valve body. A poppet element is provided which has a circumferential surface with a relatively narrow neck proximate the valve seat. The circumferential surface of the poppet element on the downstream side of the neck has a frustoconical configuration. A deformable resilient O-ring circumscribes the poppet element at the neck. The outer diameter of the O-ring is greater than the inner diameter of the annular seating surface of the valve seat so that the flow of fluid through the valve body from the downstream end to the upstream end presses the O-ring against the seating surface to close the valve.

Check valve assembly

A system for metering and pumping a plurality of fluids is diclosed. The system includes a pumping stage which has a plurality of piston pumps extending from a rigid support to a rack hinged at one end. A valve stage is provided having a valve body with an internal rotatable valve spool. The valve body has several sets of inlet, outlet and common ports communicating with the valve spool, the common ports being connected to the respective pumps. One set of ports is provided for such fluid to be metered and pumped. For each set of ports, the valve spool has a flat portion and a circumferential indentation integral to the flat portion. Alignment of a flat portion of the valve spool with an inlet port of the valve body allows fluid to pass from a supply to the respective pump, and alignment of the flat portion with an outlet port allows the fluid to pass from the pump and out through the outlet port. Means are provided for rotating the valve spool so that the respective fluids are cyclically provided to the respective metering pumps and then allowed to be expelled therefrom.
