Chemical composition for improving the wettability of synthetic

An emission control device and method are provided for treating exhaust gases to reduce gaseous pollutants contained therein. The device includes a treatment chamber through which the exhaust gases pass. First and second metal screens are disposed within the chamber a predetermined distance from each other. AC voltage is supplied to adjacent the first screen with, for example, an electrode device. A timing circuit is provided for pulsing the AC voltage at a predetermined pulse rate. A temperature sensitive device may be interfaced with the treatment chamber and timing circuit so that the pulsed voltage is only supplied to the screen within a predetermined temperature range.

A composition and process for formulating a size and for sizing and desizing textiles using an inorganic compound are provided. One inorganic compound that may be used is basic aluminum chloride. The use of basic aluminum chloride in a size formulation creates a size that is less environmentally hazardous but effective as a size.

Organic peroxide compositions that are available as sprayable dispersions, pourable dispersions, thick pastes and free flowing powder form, all of which may be characterized as slow burning and nonexplosive. Benzoyl peroxide compositions are preferred and may contain up to about 70 weight percent peroxide while viscosity of dispersions of same may be as low as about 100 centipoises when measured with a Brookfield RVT viscometer using a number 3 spindle at 50 rpm. Dispersions are produced in either low shear, impact-attrition type dispersion mills, exemplified by a Kady Mill, or high shear dispersion mills, exemplified by an Eppenbach Homo-Mixer.
