A wheel lock having an L-shaped member and a hub mount. When coupled to a wheel of a trailer, the rotation of the wheel forces the L-shaped member into the ground, or into the underside of the trailer, thus immobilizing the wheel from rotating. Additionally, a puck lock, and a locking member having a lock guard, are utilized to ensure that the lock is not tampered with. Furthermore, a shield is incorporated to prevent an unauthorized user from removing the fasteners that secure the wheel lock to the wheel of the trailer.

Wheel lock

A hitch lock for securing a trailer attachment during to a towing vehicle. The hitch lock comprises two substantially symmetrically mirrored upside-down L-shaped brackets and a rectangular plate comprising downwardly angled ends. The brackets form an enclosed U-shape, covering the hitch ball when assembled, while the plate fits into multiple slots on the brackets, forming a locked position. The adjustable slots on the brackets facilitate accommodation of diverse trailer hitch configurations, ensuring a precise fit. The angled ends of the plate enhance stability, mitigating lateral movement and prevent unauthorized individuals from sliding the brackets off of the plate.

A hinged lock for trailer couplers utilizing a hasp that mates with 'puck' style locks. The hinged lock enclosure fully encases the trailer coupler and may have apertures of differing shapes and sizes allowing the lock to mate with various trailer couplers.

A method to increase carotenoid production in carotenogenic microbial host cells is provided by down-regulating or disrupting glycogen synthesis. Disruption of glycogen synthase activity in a carotenogenic microbial host cell significantly increased carotenoid production. Carotenogenic microorganisms are also provided that have been optimized for the production of carotenoid compounds through the down-regulation and/or disruption of glycogen synthase activity.

A method for the production of carotenoid compounds is disclosed. The method relies on the use of microorganisms which metabolize single carbon substrates for the production of carotenoid compounds in high yields.

Carotenoid production from a single carbon substrate

A high growth methanotrophic bacterial strain capable of growth on a C1 carbon substrate has been isolated and characterized. The strain has the unique ability to utilize both methane and methanol as a sole carbon source and has been demonstrated to possess a functional Embden-Meyerhof carbon flux pathway. The possession of this pathway conveys an energetic advantage to the strain, making it particularly suitable as a production platform for the production of biomass from a C1 carbon source.
