This disclosure details exemplary battery pack designs for use in electrified vehicles. An exemplary battery pack may include a multi-piece enclosure assembly and an urethane based adhesive. The urethane based adhesive may function as both a fastener for securing the enclosure assembly components together and as a seal for blocking the ingress of moisture into the interior of the battery pack. Associated battery pack assembly methods are also disclosed.

Urethane based adhesives for securing and sealing battery pack enclosure assemblies

A fastener assembly includes a stud and a nut. The stud has a proximal end and a distal end with a body therebetween. The stud also has a central axis extending from the proximal end to the distal end. The proximal end has a flange for coupling to a surface. The body has a cavity opening to an orifice at the distal end. The nut is retained within the cavity. Rotation of the nut about the central axis is inhibited.

An example coupling for an electric vehicle battery pack includes an attachment member configured to connect to a cold plate, a fluid inlet extending from the attachment member, and a fluid outlet extending from the attachment member.

Coupling for electric vehicle battery pack

An exemplary battery pack assembly includes an endplate with a first side region and a second side region opposite the first side region, a first connector in the first side region, and a second connector in the second side region. The first and second connectors each provide a connection point to secure the endplate to a support when a respective one of the first or second side regions is positioned proximate the support.
