A method and apparatus can separate and concentrate a selected component from a multi-component material. The multi-component material may include a whole sample such as adipose tissue, whole blood, or the like. The apparatus generally includes a moveable piston positioned within a separation container and a withdrawal tube that is operable to interact with a distal end of the collection container past the piston. Material can be withdrawn through the withdrawal tube.

Method and apparatus for collecting biological materials

A bone-cutting apparatus and associated method and system. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a guide removably attachable to a bone, and a rotatable mill coupled to the guide. The guide has a box-cut opening and the mill is pivotable within the opening. In one embodiment, the mill is laterally adjustable relative to the opening.

Bone cutting apparatus

A fixation pin, surgical assembly and method of fixing a cutting guide to a bone. The fixation pin includes a body having an interference portion which engages the wall of a hole in bone, a tip and a tool mating section. The surgical assembly includes an instrument for engaging the selected bone and a fixation pin operably interconnected with the instrument to engage the selected bone. Methods of fixing an instrument with a fixation pin are included. An incision is made to expose a bone. The instrument and fixation pin are interconnected and the assembly is mounted relative to a surgical site. The fixation pin is positioned in a rotationally fixed manner at a select position relative to the instrument to hold the instrument against the bone.

Method and apparatus for fixation of surgical instruments

A guide for cutting a bone comprising an anterior portion and a distal portion orientated at about a right angle to the anterior portion. The distal portion includes a guiding side, a distal surface at the guiding side, a box-cut shaped opening defined by the guiding side, a plurality of first cutting surfaces disposed at the guiding side at an acute angle relative to the distal surface of the guiding side operable to guide a cutting device to the bone to form chamfer cuts in the bone, and a second cutting surface disposed at the guiding side at at least about a right angle to the distal surface operable to guide a cutting device to the bone to form a posterior cut in the bone.

Bone-cutting apparatus

An articulating bearing knee including a guide post that in a first orientation allows substantially free varus and valgus distraction, but in another constrains the same. The guide post in includes a superior portion that engages a femoral component of a knee prosthesis in a rotated orientation. When the guide post engages the femoral component it may not distract as if it was not engaged. This allows for a control and constraint of such distraction when the knee is rotated and in a weaker position.
