A system and method for claiming a user-specific website associated to a user's telephone number is disclosed. The present invention provides for user identity verification through telephone number detection. The user-specific website requested is associated to the telephone number of the requesting user. This prevents the potential for anonymity, which is found in present methods. Potential users must 'authenticate' that they have access to the phone number of the website that they are attempting to claim. Website claiming can be done by first requesting a user-specific website online and then accessing the system's telephone service for phone number verification. In the alternative, website claiming can be performed by first calling the system phone number for phone verification, followed by online website claim completion.

Method and apparatus for user-specific website claiming

A first computer (e.g., a central server) collects information to be presented to one or more users. The information is organized into a plurality of first web-sites where each of these web-sites is addressable by a unique Universal Resource Locator (URL). A physical location is associated with each of the first web-sites. One of the first web-sites may be provided to a user as a user web-site. When the user or other individual seeks to access the user web-site, links to a plurality of the first web-sites are provided based on a relationship between the physical locations associated with the first web-sites and the physical location associated with the user web-site.

Method and system for providing local information over a network

A method and system is provided where a first computer (e.g., a central server) collects information to be presented to one or more users. The information is organized into a plurality of first web-sites where each of these web-sites is addressable by a unique Universal Resource Locator (URL). A physical location is associated with each of the first web-sites. One of the first web-sites may be provided to a user as a user web-site. When the user or other individual seeks to access the user web-site, links to a plurality of the first web-sites are provided based on a relationship between the physical locations associated with the first web-sites and the physical location associated with the user web-site.

The present invention provides a method and system for transforming image data from a present format to a requested format. A request for the image data is received wherein the request includes a requested format, the requested format includes a first plurality of parameters. A present format for the image data is determined in response to receiving a request for the image data, wherein the present format includes a second plurality of parameters describing the image data. The first plurality of parameters within the requested format is compared to the second plurality of parameters within the present format describing the image data, wherein each parameter within the first plurality of parameters corresponds to a parameter within the second plurality of parameters. Parameters from the first and second plurality of parameters are identified, wherein a match between a parameter within the first plurality of parameters and a corresponding parameter within the second plurality of parameters is absent. The image data is altered utilizing the identified parameters, wherein the image data is transformed from a present format to a requested format.

A rasterizer 10 for converting a datastream 12 which describes a page to be printed into a rasterized pagemap bitstream 13 to be sent to a printer. The rasterization is done in four stages using parallel processors in all stages except the first, and pipelining the processors between all of the stages. In the first stage 11, a scan processor 14 identifies and stores state-independent blocks 14 in the datastream. In the second stage 17, parallel block processors 22 convert the scanned blocks into stored intermediate-form data objects 20 and request preparation of often-used resources such as characters. In the third stage 23, the objects are sorted and stored by geographical region of the pagemap by parallel sort processors 24. In the fourth stage 31, the sorted objects are rasterized into pelmaps and placed in the pagemap by parallel bin processors 30. All four stages are pipelined. End-of-block markers are used in the third and fourth stages to maintain correct ordering of the objects within the final pagemap. The rasterizer uses general purpose microprocessors for all stages.
