A valve proportioning assembly that incorporates a check valve assembly is improved in manufacture and assembly. The valve proportioning assembly includes a housing having a blind opening that receives a sub-assembly of two separate non-metallic components that mate via an interference fit or snap-fit together enclose the check valve assembly. The non-metallic components enclose the check valve assembly. It includes a spring and spring follower so that a sub-assembly is formed for insertion into a blind bore. This minimizes potential misassembly, provides for a wider array of design configurations, and offers the additional advantage of adding more complete informational indicia directly into the molded components.

Non-metallic, snap-together subsasembly of internal double check valve

A wheel speed sensor assembly improves the performance and also simplifies manufacturing. It includes a one-piece pole and magnetic flux concentrator having first, second, and third regions of distinct diameters. Overmolded components at opposite ends of the pole/concentrator provide a cavity for the winding that eliminates the conventional use of a bobbin. A magnet is received over the pole between the first end and the intermediate region so that the magnet is more closely disposed adjacent the pole end of the sensor assembly. A molded end cap is provided at the opposite end of the assembly and one cap design can be easily substituted for another as desired.

A self-adjusting retention bushing and assembly for a vehicle anti-lock braking system using a resilient spring bushing with an integral locking prong is described. The locking prong is deflected and spring loaded to engage the sensor when the sensor is installed. The locking prong resists movement of the sensor relative to the bushing. The deflected locking prong also resists retraction of the bushing from the mounting block. The locking features prevent inadvertent movement of the sensor during assembly, repair or use.

Speed sensor retaining and assembly

A lightweight, non-metallic valve is preferably formed of molded plastic. The valve has an hour-glass configuration or enlarged recesses formed therein to reduce the overall mass of the assembly and provide increased sensitivity to low flow rates. Sealing O-rings are snap fit into grooves at opposite ends of the symmetrical assembly.

Check valve

An air dryer of the type fitted with a purge valve 92 is fitted with an input cut-off valve (81) which closes when the purge valve is opened in order that the compressor output line 2 is not vented thereby maintaining compressor and/or turbo charger pressure during off-load conditions.

Compressed gas apparatus

In a vehicle having a turbocharger (12) for supplying pressurized air to a combustion chamber in an engine (10) and a storage reservoir (34) for supplying pressurized air as a power source for a brake system (35), a polymeric fiber membrane (46) for separating pressurized air from a compressor (18) into moist oxygen enriched air and dry nitrogen enriched air. The moist oxygen enriched air is added to inlet air of the turbocharger (12) to enhance combustion of fuel in the combustion chamber while the dry nitrogen enriched air is communicated to the storage reservoir (34) to operate the brake system (35) and reduce the possibility of oxidization of components therein.
