A pair of cantilevered armrests are mounted on a juvenile seat. Each armrest includes an arm and a support mount appended to the arm and coupled to the seat back. The support mount extends above and below the arm to embrace the seat back. One fastener lies above the arm and is coupled to an upper portion of the support mount. Another fastener lies below the arm and is coupled to a lower portion of the support mount.

A juvenile vehicle seat includes a seat bottom, a seat back, a pivotable shield, and a juvenile-restraint harness. The shield includes a barrier coupled to the juvenile-restraint harness.

According to the present disclosure, a playyard top rail includes a left rail and a right rail mounted to pivot about a pivot axis relative to the right rail. The playyard top rail further includes a rail lock associated with the left and right rails. The rail lock is configured to lock the right rail to the left rail upon movement of the left and right rails to an in-line erected position and movement of the rail lock in a first direction along the pivot axis to a rail-locking position. Once the rail lock is moved in an opposite second direction along the pivot axis to a rail-releasing position, the left and right rails are free to pivot relative to one another about the pivot axis to assume a side-by-side collapsed position. An extensible cord is coupled at one end to the left rail and at another end to the right rail and supported in the middle on a lock housing containing the rail lock to define a bowed fabric support overlying a portion of the left and right rails.

A juvenile seat includes a base and a lower back section coupled to the base. The base includes a bottom seat portion and the lower back section is positioned to lie at an angle relative to the bottom seat portion. The lower back section includes a planar front surface. A headrest of the juvenile seat is coupled to the lower back section for up and down movement relative to the base and the lower back section. The headrest includes a planar front surface and is positioned forward the planar front surface of the lower back section. The headrest and lower back section cooperate to provide a back rest surface for the juvenile seated therein.

A juvenile seat is provided including a base and a cup holder. The cup holder is pivotably coupled to the base to move between a closed position adjacent the base and an opened position extending from the base.

A seat mount is provided for use with a vehicle seat and anchor mounts provided in or near the vehicle seat. The seat mount includes a base for placement on the vehicle seat and a vehicle anchor system adapted to be coupled to the anchor mounts. The base includes a pair of openings for receiving a portion of the vehicle anchor system. The vehicle anchor system includes an anchor belt adapted to be coupled to the anchor mounts. The anchor belt includes a strap having a central portion, opposite end portions, and a clasp coupled to each end portion and adapted to be coupled to one of the anchor mounts. The anchor belt is threaded through the openings to position the seat in a rearwardly facing anchored position on the vehicle seat. The vehicle anchor system also includes a leash coupled to the base and to the central portion of the anchor belt.

A child-restraint seat includes a seat shell, a child-restraint harness coupled to the seat shell, and a harness-control panel including a belt-receiving opening receiving a shoulder belt portion of the child-restraint harness. The harness-control panel is mounted on the seat shell for up and down movement relative to the seat shell to raise and lower the shoulder belt portion of the child-restraint harness with respect to the seat shell. The child-restraint seat further includes a panel-height adjustment mechanism coupled to the harness-control panel and movable between a locked position to prevent the harness-control panel from moving up and down relative to the seat shell and an unlocked position to allow the harness-control panel to move up and down relative to the seat shell. The panel-height adjustment mechanism is accessible to a user from both a front side and a rear side of the child-restraint seat.

A juvenile vehicle seat assembly includes a seat having a side wall, an armrest mount coupled to the side wall of the seat, and an armrest coupled to the armrest mount for movement relative to the seat about a pivot axis between a raised position and a lowered position. The armrest mount includes an outer wall formed to define a first notch and a second notch spaced-apart from the first notch. The armrest includes an outer wall and a top wall coupled to the outer wall to cooperate with the outer wall to define a cavity formed to receive the outer wall of the armrest mount therein. A lug of the armrest is located within the first notch of the armrest mount in the raised position and is located within the second notch of the armrest mount in the lowered position.

A juvenile booster seat includes a seat protector arranged to be moved by a user between a retracted position stored inside the booster seat and an extended position partly removed from the booster seat. In the extended position, a forward portion of the seat protector is positioned to drape over a front portion of a vehicle seat underlying the booster seat.

A seat assembly includes a seat and armrests that are movable relative to the seat. An armrest lock supports each armrest for movement relative to the seat between a raised storage position and a lowered armrest position. Each armrest lock is movable relative to the seat between an armrest-locking position and an armrest-releasing position. Each armrest lock is able to move to its armrest-locking position once its companion armrest has been moved to assume either the raised storage position or the lowered armrest position.

A juvenile vehicle seat comprises a set shell and a juvenile restraint harness with shoulder strap portions. A harness control panel is provided on the front surface of the back of the seat shell to be adjustably movable to raise and lower the shoulder strap portions. A panel height adjustment mechanism is provided on the back of the seat shell to adjust the position of the panel. A shoulder strap tensioner is provided coupled to the height adjustment mechanism.

A juvenile vehicle seat includes a seat, a support base under the seat, a first belt retainer coupled to one side of the support base, and a second seat belt retainer coupled to another side of the support base. To retain the juvenile vehicle seat in place on a first side of a seat in a vehicle, a vehicle shoulder strap associated with that first side of the seat is moved to engage one lower portion of the support base and pass through a channel provided by the first belt retainer so that it extends diagonally behind the juvenile vehicle seat (from left to right) in an &ldquo;upwardly&rdquo; sloping direction. Alternatively, to retain the juvenile vehicle seat in place on the other side of a seat in a vehicle, the vehicle shoulder strap associated with that side of the seat is moved to engage another lower portion of the support base and pass through a channel provided by the second belt retainer so that it extends diagonally behind the juvenile vehicle seat (form left to right) in a &ldquo;downwardly&rdquo; sloping direction.
