Pressure limiting valve for being inserted into ventilation gas apparatus which valve includes a first vent for venting ventilation gas present in the apparatus above a first pressure to provide pressurized ventilation gas delivered to a person with a peak inspiratory pressure during periods of inspiration substantially equal to the first pressure, and including a second vent for venting accumulating pressurized ventilation gas present in the apparatus from increasing above a second pressure less than the first pressure to establish a base line pressure for the pressurized breathing gas to which the person is exposed during periods between periods of inspiration.

A medication dispensing apparatus comprising a liquid container having an open end and a cap assembly engagably removable from the open end of the container. The cap assembly comprises an external cap having a lower end, an inner fixing element adapted to be fitted into the open end of the liquid container and connected to the lower end of the external cap. The cap assembly further comprises a dropper connected through the inner fixing element and having a fluid passageway and activation element for aspirating liquid from the container into the dropper. The activation element comprises a piston mounted in sliding relationship within the fluid passageway of the dropper and having a first position at the lower end of the fluid passageway and a second position at the upper end of the fluid passageway, and an actuating elemnt disposed within the external cap and connected to the piston for advancing or retracting the piston within the fluid passageway thereby aspirating liquid from the container when the piston is retracted from its first position to its second position.

A holding device for medication containers of essentially any size or shape provides the patient with the last time the medicine was taken and includes a housing with a cylindrical cup shape opening with a micro switch member extending through an access opening into the cavity form one side of the opening. Individual positioning devices in the form of vertical open cylindrical tubes are sized to fit particular containers with the cylinders positioned proximate the switch member with an opening to allow the switch member to extend into the cylindrical bore opening. A bushing and interlocking tab index the position of each cylindrical tube in the correct position each time the positioning device is inserted into the base section of holding device. The sensor signal that a container is placed in the base is used to provide through numerical display the time the last medication was taken, the elapsed time since that dose and the number of times the medication was accessed in one day. A settable alarm is provided to alert the patient as to the next time to take the medicine.

Apparatus is disclosed which is operable for turning a page of a book, or other like reading material, and for retaining said page in a turned position. The page is turned via a vacuum arrangement which draws a single page away from the rest of the pages and an arm which is disposed in back of the single page and is displaced to turn said page from right to left. The page is retained in the turned position by means synchronously operataed with the page turning arrangement and including an arm which rests on the turned page to prevent said page from returning to the unturned page position.

A pedal is secured to the bottom of a door and a clamp is secured to the door knob. The pedal is coupled to the clamp through a cord or the like. Operation of the pedal by a user turns the knob through the clamp, whereby the door latch is disengaged from a latch plate in the door jamb to free the door therefrom, so that the door may be opened by the user by pushing with a hand or foot, as the case may be.
