A device is provided to allow adaptation of a prosthetic or robotic foot in the medial-lateral direction, including pronation and supination of the foot using a series of articulations. Articulations are permitted in the disclosed device due to linkage systems positioned at various locations of the prosthetic foot. In particular, the device includes multiple connected linkage systems each including upper and lower portions with an articulating contact surface designed for load carriage and stability. The point of contact between the contact surfaces of each linkage system comprises the position-dependent instantaneous center of rotation of the upper portion with respect to the lower portion. The device also includes a platform coupled between the linkage systems and a base.

Robust adaptable foot prosthesis

A conductive human interface has a fabric layer with an interior surface and an exterior surface. A soft coating overlies the interior surface of the fabric layer. An electrode or sensor is included to connect with a residual limb. A conductive path connects the electrode or sensor with an electrical connector which, in turn connects with a prosthetic or other assistive device. The conductive path includes a conductor having a section overlying the fabric layer. The overlying section of the conductor can be cord of conductive thread. A nonconductive support thread can extend through the fabric layer from the exterior surface to the interior surface, and further around the conductor to secure the overlying section of the conductor to the fabric layer.

Conductive human interfaces

A prosthetic foot structure includes a plate assembly having a toe portion and a heel portion. The plate assembly includes a first plate adjoining a second plate along a seam at which the first plate is bonded to the second plate. The seam has an end between the first and second plates, and the first plate is spaced from the second plate across a gap that reaches away from the end of the seam. An attachment structure attaches the first plate to second plate. The attachment structure has a composite composition including a resin material containing reinforcing fibers. The reinforcing fibers reach through the first plate, across the gap, and through the second plate.

Composite prosthetic foot structure

A prosthetic cushion liner may include a fabric covering having an open end for introduction of a residual limb and a closed end opposite the open end. The prosthetic cushion liner may include a continuous layer of a gel composition residing on an interior surface of the fabric covering. The gel composition may include a plasticizing oil; one or more of a SEBS thermoplastic elastomer, a SEPS thermoplastic elastomer, a SEEPS thermoplastic elastomer; and a hydrogenated block copolymer.

Fabric covered polymeric prosthetic liner

A stable shock absorbing prosthetic foot that transfers energy between heel strike and toe-off. A toe plate is separated from one or more other plates by a bumper assembly located at each of the toe end and heel end of the foot. Certain embodiments of the shock absorbing foot of the present invention are designed for use with a prosthetic ankle. A torsion adapter may also be used to attach a prosthetic foot of the present invention to the remainder of a prosthesis.

Prosthetic foot

A prosthetic foot structure includes a primary foot member and a heel member. The primary foot member has a heel portion, a toe portion with a pair of toe sections separated by a gap, and an elongated intermediate portion configured as an arch extending downward from the heel portion toward the toe portion. The heel member includes a hollow cylindrical spring wall extending downward from the heel portion of the primary foot member. The primary foot member and the heel member are portions of a unitary body of material formed by additive manufacturing.

Additive manufacturing produced prosthetic foot

A prosthetic cushion liner and cushion locking liner for use as a standalone interface between an amputee's residual limb and the interior of a prosthetic socket. The liners include a fabric covering having an open end for introduction of a residual limb and a closed end opposite said open end, and a cushioning block copolymer and plasticizing oil gel composition residing on only an interior surface of the fabric covering. The gel composition includes some amount of a Septon J-Series thermoplastic elastomer material, and/or some amount of a Septon V-Series thermoplastic elastomer material, and/or some amount of a Septon Q-Series thermoplastic elastomer material. The cushion locking liner further includes a distally-located connecting element for coupling the liner to the socket of a prosthesis.

Prosthetic devices having vacuum components operative to evacuate the interior of a prosthetic socket thereof, and control systems for use therewith. The evacuation devices preferably include at least an electrically powered vacuum pump and associated power source, and a vacuum accumulator connected to the vacuum pump. Associated control systems may be of various designs and may employ wired or wireless communication. Control of an evacuation device may be based on vacuum level, residual limb volume, residual limb motion, user activity level or other device parameters.

Prosthetic device utilizing electric vacuum pump

A prosthetic device and prosthetic assembly operative to evacuate an interior of a prosthetic socket, and control systems for use therewith. The prosthetic device and prosthetic assembly employ evacuation devices for evacuating the socket. The evacuation devices preferably include at least an electrically powered vacuum pump and a power source, and are adapted for mounting to a universal adapter that is installed to the distal end of a prosthetic socket. Associated control systems may be of various design and may employ wired or wireless communication. When wireless communication is employed, a hand held controller may be used to remotely control operation of the evacuation device.

Evacuation devices for evacuating the socket of a prosthetic limb, and prosthetic limb systems employing such vacuum devices. The evacuation devices each preferably include at least an electrically powered vacuum pump and a power source. Such evacuation devices can be attached at various locations on or in a prosthetic limb. Because the electrically powered pump does not require manual manipulation to create vacuum, it is substantially easier to use than a manual pump. Due to the small size and small power source required by such an electrically powered pump, an evacuation device may be readily incorporated into a prosthesis.

A system, method, and computer program product for configuring a medical device. A personal data assistant is used by a practitioner to gather patient information. Patient information is transferred to a server, and three optional medical devices are configured as a 'good,' 'better,' and &#x201c;best&#x201d; alternative. One of the proposed options is selected customized by the practitioner prior to ordering. Order status may be obtained online, and historical patient and order information is maintained. A catalog of medical device components is also provided, the catalog items are either ordered &#x201c;as is&#x201d; or are customized through the customizer prior to ordering.
