A compact 50 caliber machine gun system which utilizes an original Browning rear-stripping ammunition link design. The chain-driven machine gun system features a delinker assembly configured to receive a belt of linked cartridges, separate each of the cartridge from the belt rearwardly, and feed each of the cartridges for firing. The delinking function is separated from the motion of the bolt assembly so as to reduce the overall length of the gun system. The receiver has a receiver mounting length RML from the rear base of each incoming cartridge in a belt of connected links to the rear end of the receiver that is less than 15 inches. A shuttle feed system is incorporated into the basic chain gun style mechanism which had been limited to a sprocket feed on all previous designs. An electronic anti-hangfire system uses a single proximity switch and the already existing parts and motions of the gun.

Delinker mechanism for chain-driven machine gun

A containment vessel having a spiral plate heat exchanger, a central catalyst chamber packed with particulate catalyst, a central heater, a plenum providing conductive flow access for a hydrocarbon-air mixture to and from the containment vessel interior, and essential flow pathways interconnecting the plenum section, heat exchanger, catalyst chamber and central heater. The spiral plate heat exchanger, catalyst chamber, and heater assembly occupy successively smaller annular regions within the containment vessel.

Electric catalytic oxidizer

A recreational watercraft device consisting of a light hull in the shape of a sail board hull and on the bottom a strut hydrofoil assembly. The hydrofoil has a bilateral symmetric plan-form with a pivot connection at the center of the hydrofoil span. The pivot connection joins the hydrofoil to the strut. The strut has a streamline cross-section. The plane of symmetry of the strut is positioned in the plane of symmetry perpendicular to the span of the hydrofoil. In operation the rider stands on the hull and reciprocates the hydrofoil up and down via a strut having a T handle. The elements of the strut hydrofoil assembly comprise a foil, a pivot, a strut, a T handle, and extension.

An apparatus includes an embedded memory, a plurality of input connectors to receive input signals from an external source, a plurality of output connectors to provide output signals to the external source, and a plurality of reconfigurable input and output signal paths coupled to the embedded memory and the plurality of input and output connectors. When the apparatus is operating in a first operating mode, the plurality of reconfigurable input and output signal paths provide the input signals directly to and the output signals directly from the embedded memory.

A catalytic oxidizer having an interactive dilution control system for continuous treatment of air hydrocarbon vapor mixture having a shell vessel for enclosing a central volume of generally circular cross-section, a combined catalyst chamber and spiral heat exchanger integrally connected and coaxially positioned within the shell vessel, also of cylindrical configuration, for providing a continuous transverse flow path from an inlet header to the exhaust header including a spiral heat exchanger for providing counter-flow heating of vapor, a catalyst chamber centrally positioned in said shell vessel an inlet plenum, a central core for containing a catalyst means, and an exhaust plenum; and interactive dilution control apparatus for automatically maintaining a concentration of inlet vapor at a selected optimum operating level including a microprocessor control sub-system for sensing the temperature in each zone of the catalyst chamber connected to the dilution control means; by-pass apparatus connecting the exhaust plenum with an exhaust stack means for controlling the heat recovery in said spiral heat exchanger; and dilution control apparatus connected to inlet means for providing variable inlet flow; wherein said dilution control sub-system in combination with said microprocessor control sub-system and said by-pass control sub-system automatically adjusts inlet dilution of air hydrocarbon vapor mixtures for optimum operational efficiency and automatic adjustment of heat recovery of the spiral heat exchanger with controlled by-pass of exhaust air hydrocarbon vapor, including automatic shutoff.

Counterflow catalytic device with interactive dilution control

A catalytic oxidizer having a combined central catalyst chamber and a spiral heat exchanger for treatment of air hydrocarbon vapor mixture including an outer shell of circular cross section having a tangentially directed longitudinal inlet aperture, a parallel exhaust aperture, an end cover plate and having a catalytic chamber centrally and coaxially positioned in the outer shell including an inlet port and an outlet port, the catalytic chamber including an upstream plenum, a catalyst core member and a downstream plenum, having perforated partitions for separating the catalyst core member from the inlet plenum and the exhaust plenum, and a coaxial spiral plate heat exchanger surrounding the catalytic chamber including a spiral inlet passage formed by coiled plates connected at one end to the inlet aperture and at the other end to an outlet associated with the inlet plenum defining a first heat exchange region, the coiled plates being spaced apart to create an intermediate spiral exhaust passage, the heat exchanger being sealed at opposite ends defining a second heat exchange region; and including a by-pass device for detecting and venting excess pressure in the catalyst chamber; wherein inlet flow passes through the spiral inlet passage inwardly and an opposed exhaust flow passes outwardly in the adjacent spiral exhaust passage, the exhaust, being heated by catalytic combustion in the core, heats the inlet flow.

Counterflow catalytic device

A method for isolating an earth mass and for setting up barriers to ground water flow by displacing the earth block and injecting sealant into the separations under and around the block, the sealant, acting as a working fluid to displace the earth block. In one embodiment, the displacement process is aided by sealing the upper perimeter of the block. In another embodiment, earth blocks are displaced in a progressive manner where a region of active vertical displacement advances around the perimeter of a region to be isolated. In a further method, an earth block is separated at its base and partially displaced upward before the sides of the block are separated.

Creation of flow barriers and ground isolation by block displacement

A method for elevating extremely large blocks of earth by displacement with a slurry composed of water and locally excavated materials. The blocks are separated on lateral faces by variously drilling, jetting, fracturing, and kerf cutting operations. The blocks are separated at the lower end by notching and hydraulic fracturing. Block movement is started by injecting gelled fluid into the narrow separations. In one set of applications the high density slurry filling the side clearances is less dense than the block being elevated. In these cases the earth blocks are displaced upward by injecting fluid into the underside, and the non hydrostatic component of the displacement pressure is contained by the gel strength of the slurry filling the narrow side clearance. In a second set of applications the blocks being elevated contain a high percentage of coal, and slurry filling the side clearances exceeds the block density. The blocks are then displaced upward by hydrostatic pressure. The method has a wide range of applications which include elevating a block and cementing it in place to form a storage cavity, elevating a block and fragmenting a hydrocarbon containing section into the resulting cavity in preparation for in situ recovery of hydrocarbons, and elevating a block to recover the coal contained in the block.

Method for displacing large blocks of earth

An apparatus for cutting a deep slot, having a large depth to thickness ratio, in earth formations, which includes two main components, a motive means and a cutting assembly; the motive means, such as a crawler tractor, supports the projecting end of the cutting assembly, supplies a small portion of the driving force needed to advance the cutting assembly, and provides, through various connections, power, control functions, and the fluids required for operation of the cutting assembly; and the cutting assembly, extending the full depth of the slot along its advancing edge, includes an elongated support, a reciprocating cutter bar mounted on the leading edge of the support, a passage incorporated in the support for transmitting a fluid, generally a high gel strength clay paste, along the support and discharging the fluid in the interior of the slot, in a sufficient amount and under sufficient pressure to resist the earth pressure tending to close the slot and to provide a major portion of the force necessary to move the cutting assembly forward against the advance edge of the slot.
