A method for forming an ink jet printhead can include interposing a coverlay between a press plate of a press and an ink jet printhead aperture plate assembly, such that the coverlay physically contacts an anti-wetting coating on a surface of the aperture plate assembly. With the coverlay contacting the anti-wetting coating, a force is applied to the aperture plate assembly using the press. The coverlay is separated from the aperture plate assembly, wherein the coverlay includes a layer having an elastic modulus of at least 0.5 GPa.

In accordance with aspects of the present disclosure, a printhead assembly arranged to dispense ultraviolet curable ink or gel ink and method thereof is disclosed. The printhead assembly includes a plurality of functional plates stacked together; a first adhesive layer arranged between adjacent functional plates to provide bonding between the plates; and a second adhesive layer arranged between adjacent function plates to provide chemical resistance to the ultraviolet curable ink or the gel ink.

Advantageously, the torque assist force Td facilitates accurate positioning of the belt (e.g., latent image registrations in a color imaging process employing multiple imaging processing stations) by reducing slippage between the drive roller and the belt that may be encountered due to belt wear, toner contamination and/or other debris.
