A tamper-evident closure including a cap having a base and an upstanding post, the base defining a circular channel. A spout is positioned on the upstanding post, with the spout carrying a circumferential skirt permanently retained in the circular channel. A frangible line of weakness permits separation of the spout from the circumferential skirt. The spout and circumferential skirt are of a color that contrasts with the color of the base and post, so that, upon movement of the spout on the post, the circumferential skirt remains in the channel to provide a visual indication of such movement.

Closure for dispensing nozzle

A hinged closure including a lid hingedly connected to a base positioned upon a container for dispensing of the contents thereof. The base is formed with an upper wall including an angled deck surface. The lid has a peripheral wall with a portion thereof of reduced thickness to permit flexing thereof. When the lid is in closed position over the base, the reduced thickness portion of the lid is disposed adjacent to the angled deck surface. Upon exertion of a force against said reduced thickness portion of the lid, said portion flexes inwardly and a terminal edge thereof ramps upwardly on the angled deck surface to cause the lid to pivot into open position with respect to the base.

Hinged dispensing closure

A tamper-evident cap retained on a container to seal the contents thereof. The cap includes a circumferential tamper band having an inwardly projecting annular flange to be engaged below an annular lip projecting from the mouth of the container. A tear lever is formed as part of the tamper band at a common hinge portion thereof. The tear lever includes a free edge disposed spaced from said hinge portion and connected to a free edge of said tamper band at two securement points only. The cap is removable from the container by pulling on said tear lever to separate same from the tamper band at the two securement points and pivoting the lever about the hinge to disengage the annular flange from the annular lip.

A tamper-evident cap and overcap including a cap with an upstanding cap portion and a lower base, the base defining a circumferential channel. An overcap is positioned to enclose the upstanding cap portion, with the overcap carrying a circumferential projection or skirt permanently retained in the circumferential channel, typically by force-fit. A frangible line of weakness permits separation of the overcap and the circumferential projection. At least the circumferential projection, and typically also the overcap, are of a color that contrasts with the color of the cap, so that, upon removal of the cap, the remaining edge of the circumferential projection gives an indication that the overcap has been removed.

Tamper-evident overcap

A child-resistant closure for a container having a neck and a mouth covered by a flexible cap of inverted cup shape. The container neck includes an outwardly projecting, ramped rib having a lower ramp end. The cap has at least one projection extending inwardly from a sidewall, with the projection being normally positioned radially spaced outside of the ramped rib, but being manually movable inwardly with the side wall to engage the ramped rib near the lower end in a predetermined rotational position of the cap. A detent member hold the cap in a position closing the container mouth but permitting cap rotation. The sidewall may be squeezed to engage the projection and ramped rib, and rotated in one direction, with the ramped rib raising the projection, to force the cap upwardly to open the container by disengaging the detent member from its cap-holding position.

Twist top child-resistant closure

A disposable closure assembly/container combination for delivering medial fluid to a patient by needleless access means. The closure assembly comprises an elastomeric stopper for sealing the container at its open end and a spike access means equipped with a luer lock.

Medicament container closure with integral spike access means

A twist dispensing closure including a spout part matingly engageable with a base part adapted to be secured to the neck of a container holding product to be dispensed. The base part includes upstanding cam followers for engagement with ramps formed by channels provided on the inner surface of the spout part. Rotation of the spout part with respect to the base part causes the cam followers to ride on the ramps and thereby move the spout part away from the base part from a closed condition of the spout to an opened condition, thereby permitting dispensing of product through the spout.

Twist dispensing closure

A resealable container closure including a cap and a tear band formed therewith for engagement with the external wall of the container. A depending flange formed on the underside of the cap engages the internal wall of the container to form a plug seal therewith. Removal of the tear band permits separation of the cap from the container, but re-sealing therewith upon re-engagement of the plug seal with the internal wall of the container.

A closure cap which can be manipulated to dispense container contents end enables venting of any excess pressure which may build up within the container when the closure is in a fully closed position including a central post, a cap body reciprocally mounted on and about the periphery of the post and having an aperture including an inner periphery which cooperates with the post to form a variable opening therebetween including a fully closed position and a plurality of dispensing positions for dispensing the contents of the container at a plurality of different rates and a venting mechanism for enabling any excess pressure from within the container to exhaust through the cap to the exterior of the container upon reaching a predetermined pressure within the container when the cap is positioned in the fully closed position.

A closure for sealing a rim of an open mouth of a container including a substantially cylindrical end cap closed at a first end thereof by a top surface, open at a second opposite end thereof and including an annular side wall having a predetermined width extending between the first and second ends, the top surface including a first inside surface facing the interior of the end cap and a second exterior surface facing the exterior of the end cap, a first flexible seal member connected to and depending a predetermined distance from the first inside surface of the top surface proximate the annular side wall for cooperative sealing engagement with an outer edge of the container rim and for inhibiting outward distortion of the container rim, and a second flexible seal member connected to and depending a predetermined distance from the first inside surface of the top surface and within the confines of the first seal member for sealing engagement with an inner edge of the container rim and for inhibiting inward distortion of the container rim, the rim substantially being accepted between the first and second seal members which seal the exterior and interior edges of the rim, respectively, to prevent leakage of the container contents and contamination of the contents from elements outside the container.

A tamper evident closure for a container opening including a substantially cylindrical end cap closed at a first end by a top surface, open at a second opposite end and including an annular side wall having a predetermined width extending between the first and second ends, a tamper band member frangibly connected about the second opposite end of the end cap for detaching from the end cap and remaining affixed to the container upon removal of the end cap from the container, an engagement member integrally formed with a first portion of an inside surface of the tamper band for providing gripping contact between the tamper band and a substantially cylindrical or rectilinear neck portion of the container, for restricting axial movement of the tamper band with respect to the end cap and the neck portion and for preventing removal of the tamper band from the container upon severing of the frangible connection and removal of the end cap, and stop members integrally formed with a second portion of, and at a plurality of predetermined positions about, the inside surface of the tamper band for reinforcing the engagement member during contact with the rectilinear neck portion of the container.

A closure for a container opening including a closure body having a predetermined configuration, external periphery and a first aperture formed therethrough, a member for connecting the closure body about the container opening, a cover member reciprocally mounted about a portion of the external periphery of the closure body, the cover member including a first lid member hingedly connected thereto for rotation with respect to the cover member and the closure body and closing engagement with the first aperture, and a first locking member for releasably retaining the first lid member a predetermined distance away from the first aperture to maintain the first aperture in an uncovered condition during dispensing of the container contents, the first locking member including at least one engagement wing integral with the first lid member for engaging a portion of the closure body.

A closure for a container having a tamper evident band which remains on the container after the closure is removed including a substantially cylindrical end cap closed at a first end thereof by a top surface, open at a second opposite end thereof and including an annular side wall having a predetermined length extending between the first and second ends, an annular band having a first side positioned proximate the second open end of the end cap, a plurality of severable bridge members connecting the first side of the annular band to the second open end of the end cap at a plurality of predetermined positions about the periphery of the annular band and the end cap thereby forming between the bridge members a plurality of slits extending between the first side of the annular band and the second end of the end cap, a member for affixing the annular band to the container and a tether member connected between the first side of the annular band and the second open end of the end cap for providing limited movement between the annular band and the end cap during removal of the end cap, for enabling removal of the end cap from the container without distorting the end cap or the annular band, and for enabling the annular band to remain affixed to the container by the affixing member after removal of the end cap, the tether member remaining attached to both the end cap and the annular band.
