The present disclosure relates to a lifting assembly such as a jib crane or similar apparatus having an articulated arm assembly and a flexible means for connecting a load to an actuator. The lift arm assembly forms an articulated cantilever boom, which is extensible so as to traverse a suspended load within a work cell area. The lift arm assembly further includes a first and second member pivotally connected to one another whereby an inclined plane (e.g., a cam) at the pivot point of the articulating arms provides a vertical displacement of the secondary arms thereby moving the distal end of the secondary arm to counterbalance inherent forces acting thereon.

Lifting apparatus with compensation means

A multi-roll media supporting and supply system is provided for supporting and supplying a web of media from a roll of media to a media using machine. The multi-roll media supporting and supply system includes a support mechanism having a first side and a second side; a media supply assembly supported rotatably on the support mechanism, including a cylindrical member having a circular periphery, a shaft defining a first axis of rotation, and a plurality of elongate recesses for each supporting a roll of media. The multi-roll media supporting and supply system also includes a staging assembly associated with at least one of the first side and the second side of the support mechanism for assisting loading of a roll of media onto the media supply assembly.

A ribbon cartridge includes two hubs, each hub having two sets of longitudinally extending splines. The two sets are offset from each other circumferentially and longitudinally and form a detent between the sets. A latch mechanism includes a retaining member fixed to a mandrel assembly, the retaining member including first and second pairs of elastic locking members having raised surfaces. The raised surfaces of one of the pairs of locking members engage the detent formed between the first and second sets of hub splines, and the raised surfaces of the other pair of locking members engage a spindle of the mandrel assembly, effectively securing the ribbon cartridge to the mandrel assembly.

Split-spline hub and latch mechanism

A spool retainer prevents the spools of a tape cartridge from unwinding during shipping or storage and also serves as an installation aid that remains on the cartridge during installation into a printing mechanism to retain and precisely locate the ribbon within the cartridge during installation. The retainer includes a substantially flat back wall; two spaced apart tabs projecting in a direction perpendicular to the back wall; and a protruding wall extending in the direction from a lower end of the back wall substantially parallel with the tabs. The two spaced apart tabs are adapted for mating with splines within spools of a ribbon cartridge and fixedly engage the splines to prevent relative movement between the spools. The protruding wall protects exposed ribbon during both storage and installation.
