In a method of ranking or filtering new content items for presentation to members of a group of users of a social-networking service, content items that are candidates for presentation to the members are received. A user of the social-networking service is enabled to serve as a curator of the candidates, with the enabling including enabling the user to scroll through subsets of the candidates in a carousel user interface to indicate an opinion of the user with respect to an importance to the group of each of one or more candidates. One or more of the candidates are presented to the members of the group based on the opinion of the user with respect to the candidates.

The present disclosure pertains to a rotationally triply symmetric three axis magnetic antenna system having substantial isolation among the three axes, including a three axis skew orthogonal magnetic antenna system and device utilizing the antenna system. The antenna system comprising three substantially identical magnetic antenna elements disposed symmetrically about a reference point such that the magnetic axes from the three antenna elements are orthogonal to one another in direction and do not intersect one another. A system, computer-readable storage medium, and computer-implemented method for assigning a task based on content presented in a data feed are presented. A data feed that includes a set of content items is presented. Each of the content items included in the data feed may include a graphical user interface element capable of invoking task assignment functionality with respect to each content item. A task based on a content item presented in the data feed may be created and assigned to a selected user in response to receiving a selection of the graphical user interface element. The method may further include generating an individual status report for the user that includes every task assigned to the user.

A multifunctional device is disclosed for facilitating plant growth by shining a solar-powered light over plants, and can provide other functions. The multifunctional device comprises a center post, a ground stake, and solar panels. The center post telescopically expands and retracts. The ground stake tapers to a point on one end and can be secured in the ground. Further, the solar panels fold down against the center post for storage, unfold perpendicular to the center post, and are locked in place when in use via a locking collar. The solar panels comprise an underside and a topside, with solar cells secured to the topside and lights secured to the underside. The solar cells absorb sunlight, and turn the sunlight into electrical energy which is used to charge the solar batteries housed in the center post. The solar batteries power the lights located on the solar panels.

An improved field emission system and method is provided that involves field emission structures having irregular polarity patterns defined in accordance with one-dimensional codes, where an irregular polarity pattern is at least one of an asymmetrical polarity pattern or an uneven polarity pattern. Such one-dimensional codes define at least one peak force and a plurality of off peak spatial forces corresponding to a plurality of alignments of said first and second field emission structures per code modulo, where a peak force is a spatial force produced when all aligned field emission sources produce an attractive force or all aligned field emission sources produce a repellant force and an off peak spatial force is a spatial force resulting from cancellation of at least one attractive force by at least one repellant force.

Magnetic structures and methods for defining magnetic structures using one-dimensional codes

An improved magnetic attachment is disclosed including a mechanical constraining mechanism and a magnetic structure comprising a plurality of magnetic sources in a polarity pattern. The magnetic structure has an interface boundary when magnetically interfacing with a complementary magnetic structure. The mechanical constraining mechanism constrains the relative motion of the magnetic structure to one or more degrees of freedom.

Systems and methods for arranging magnetic sources for producing field patterns having high gradients for precision positioning, position sensing, and pulse generation. Multiple embodiments are described having different shapes, alternative designs to receive different driving forces, varied magnetic structures, and so forth. In an example implementation, a magnetic structure may include on a single side multiple magnetic sources having different magnetic polarities. Other description herein may be directed to magnetizer printing, adaptable/adjustable correlated magnet devices, entertainment devices having correlated magnet technology, and so forth. The invention pertains to field emission structures comprising electric or magnetic field sources having magnitudes, polarities, and positions corresponding to a desired spatial force function where a spatial force is created based upon the relative alignment of the field emission structures and the spatial force function. The spatial force function may be based on one or more codes. In various embodiments, the code may be modified or varied. The code may be combined with another code. One or more aspects of the code, including spacing and amplitude, may be modulated or dithered according to a predefined pattern. Multiple magnet arrays may be combined, each based on a different code or portion of a code, resulting in a combination spatial force function. Magnet structures having differing field patterns may be used to generate a desired spatial force function related to a cross correlation of the two field patterns.
