A motor driven electrical device includes: a variable electrical device having a rotational variable control; a first support plate positioned above the variable electrical device; a motor support plate pliably attached to the first support plate using a pliable separator positioned between the motor support plate and the upper support; a motor mounted on the motor support plate, the motor having an output shaft; an interface/control unit coupling the output shaft to the rotational variable control; and stanchions attached to the first support plate for holding the first support plate in a fixed relation with respect to the variable electrical device.

Compliant motor driven variable electrical device

A blocking apparatus for blocking a contact structure from closing in a circuit breaker is provided. The apparatus includes a link extending from the circuit breaker and connected to a movable contact arm. The contact structure, being operated by an operating mechanism, remains in a separated position even when the operating mechanism is in the &ldquo;ON&rdquo; position due to the connection with the link of the blocking apparatus. A release assembly releases the link when it is desired to close the movable contact arm.

Blocking apparatus for circuit breaker contact structure

A motor operator mechanism is disclosed for moving a breaker handle of a circuit breaker between off and on positions. The motor operator mechanism comprises of a first pin biased to engage the breaker handle in a direction to close the circuit breaker, a pin latch configured to releasably engage the first pin when the breaker handle is in a position intermediate to the off and on positions, wherein releasing the pin latch allows the first pin to move the breaker handle to the on position.

Compact high speed motor operator for a circuit breaker

An accessory includes a trip arm biased by a spring to pivot in a clockwise direction about a trip arm pivot. A latch is arranged to pivot about a latch pivot and has the trip arm acting on a latch surface on the latch to bias the latch in a counter clockwise direction about the latch pivot. An electromechanical device including a plunger acts on the latch pulling it clockwise about the latch pivot. When a signal is provided to the electromechanical device, the plunger is released allowing the trip arm to pivot clockwise about the trip arm pivot due to the spring and actuates the operating mechanism. To reset the trip arm and the latch, a reset lever is arranged to pivot about the latch pivot. The reset lever includes a tab portion configured for interfacing the operating mechanism, and a drive portion for interfacing the trip arm. This, when the operating mechanism is reset, a portion extending from an operating handle interfaces the tab portion to pivot the reset lever clockwise about the latch pivot. The drive portion interfaces the trip arm to drive the trip arm counterclockwise about the trip arm pivot.

Circuit breaker accessory reset system

An auxiliary position switch assembly for a circuit breaker provides an electrical signal to an external monitoring device indicative of the position of a pair of separable contacts of the circuit breaker. The auxiliary position switch assembly engages a rod that switches from a retracted and extended position in response to the opening and closing of the separable contacts of the circuit breaker. The switch assembly includes a switch having a pair of separable contacts and a plunger having one end engaging one of the contacts. The plunger slidably engages a concave upper engagement surface of a pivotally mounted actuator. The actuator includes a lower convex engagement surface that engages the rod. A biasing spring connected to the actuator urges the actuator against the rod during operation of the switch assembly. The switch provides a normally-open output or a normally closed-output depending upon the position of the plunger on the upper surface of the actuator for a specific position of the separable contacts of the circuit breaker.

Auxiliary position switch assembly for a circuit breaker

A molded case circuit breaker assembly using auxiliary switches to perform indication and control functions. The circuit breaker assembly having at least one pole comprising a stationary and a moveable contact where the moveable contact is connected to a moveable contact arm which is activated by a spring mechanism. The spring mechanism is affixed to an operating handle. A trip device, housed in a mid-cover of the molded case, separates the stationary and moveable contacts when a fault is sensed. The mid-cover comprises at least one auxiliary switch compartment, where a single auxiliary switch compartment is capable of housing multiple compatible auxiliary switches.

An air circuit breaker ratcheting mechanism includes a ratchet and pawl whereby the closing springs charging gear is prevented from reverse rotation during the closing springs charging operation. Upon completion of the charging operation, the ratchet and pawl become disengaged from the charging gear to allow the closing springs to respond to a manual closing button depression. A holding prop within the ratcheting mechanism interacts with a roller bearing on the charging shaft to prevent reverse rotation of the charging shaft under the bias provided by the charged closing springs.
