A snow vehicle includes a frame having a longitudinal axis, a pair of rear suspension assemblies, a pair of front suspension assemblies, a pair of drive tracks, and a pair of ski assemblies. Each rear suspension assembly pivotally connects a drive track to a rearward portion of the frame. Each front suspension assembly pivotally connects a ski assembly to a forward portion of the frame. The rear suspension assemblies, the front suspension assemblies, the drive tracks, and the ski assemblies are symmetric about the longitudinal axis.

Snow vehicle

A yarn package adapter having an adjustable base for receiving and engaging a package of strand material wound about an elongate hollow core. The adapter includes a central shaft adapted to be mounted to the creel and having means mounted on the central shaft for engaging the inside diameter of the package core. The adapter also includes a base having an aperture for receiving the central shaft therealong and for forming a sliding abutment for engaging an end of the package core and a releasable locking mechanism attached to the base for engaging the central shaft and preventing movement of the base along the shaft. The locking mechanism includes a generally planar elongate strip having an aperture for receiving the central shaft and means for attaching one end of the strip to the base and biasing means located between the elongate strip and the base for forcing the other end of the strip away from the base, whereby the inner surface of the aperture releasably engages the surface of the central shaft and prevents movement of the base along the shaft. The adapter further includes a length of tubular material for restricting the movement of the base along the central shaft, thereby preventing the base from contacting the means mounted on the central shaft for engaging the inside diameter of the package core.

Package adapter having an adjustable base

This invention relates to apparatus for receiving and mounting or supporting strand material packages formed by winding strand materials such as textile strands about hollow elongate cores. The apparatus has a central shaft and a plurality of sets of finger members and connecting link members mounted for movement relative to the shaft. Each set makes up, together with the shaft, a five bar linkage in which the connecting link forms an engaging means which moves into engagement with the inside surface of an elongate hollow package core as the strand material package wound about the core is mounted for use.

Package adapter

A mechanical device for controlling the tension in a traveling textile yarn includes a base, a flutter member pivotably mounted on the base and a cylindrical post eccentrically mounted rotatably on the base adjacent the post, the flutter member and post being independently biased toward one another and yieldably movable independently away from and toward one another. A yarn monitoring arm is integral with the post and extends outwardly therefrom for engagement with a traveling yarn passing between the post and the flutter member. Tension increases and decreases in the yarn act on the monitoring arm to effect movement of the post in its rotational directions away from and toward the flutter member to increase and decrease the frictional drag and thereby offset the tension change. The flutter member yields to yarn thickness fluctuations and is adapted for flutter-like pivotal movement in response to yarn ballooning and untwisting actions to dampen same while maintaining the frictional drag on the yarn. The device is effective for maintaining a very low amount of tension in a traveling yarn while still providing an effective stop motion.
