A computer system for automatically handling and releasing funds for deposit items has a memory storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the system to receive an image of a cheque received and scanned by an automated teller machine (ATM) for deposit into a first account of an institution associated with the ATM. The scanned image of the cheque is analyzed to identify an institution and account on which that cheque is drawn. If that account has sufficient available funds to cover the cheque, then the first account is credited in the amount of the cheque without placing a hold on any of the credited amount and funds of the account on which the cheque is drawn are encumbered in that same amount. After crediting the first account, an indication is provided that the funds are available (e.g., to withdraw). Related methods and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

System and method for automated deposit item handling

A computer system for recycling value instruments in an automated teller machine has a memory storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the system to receive an image of a value instrument obtained by an automated teller machine for deposit. The image of the value instrument is analyzed to determine its condition. Then, based on the condition of the value instrument, it may be determined that the value instrument is suitable for recycling to fulfill withdrawals. Upon determining that the value instrument is suitable for recycling to fulfill withdrawals, recycling of the value instrument by the automated teller machine is initiated and an indication reflecting the recycling is generated so as to influence when a next servicing of the automated teller machine will occur. Related methods and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Recycling value instruments in an automated teller machine

An automated teller machine includes a processor, a wireless communications module, a cash dispenser, and a memory. The memory stores instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the automated teller machine to detect, using the wireless communications module, that an authentication token capable of wireless communication has been brought into communications range of the module and communicate with the authentication token to cryptographically authenticate the token and to receive information identifying an account associated with the token. Then, without receiving user-input providing a second authentication factor the automated teller machine initiates processing of a withdrawal of a specified quantity of cash from the account. The processing of the withdrawal includes determining, based on an automated assessment of compliance with one or more policies, that the withdrawal is executable without further authentication. The automated teller machine then dispenses, using the cash dispenser, the specified quantity of cash.

Method and system for linking a first virtual reality (VR) immersive space with a second VR immersive space

A method is for estimating a three-dimensional (3D) representation of a set of two-dimensional (2D) curves of a concept drawing, the estimate of the 3D representation corresponding to a 3D object underlying the concept drawing. The method comprises: obtaining a representation of a set of 2D curves a concept drawing that represent a 3D object underlying the concept drawing; determining an energy function based on the set of 2D curves, the energy function comprising one or more terms, each term reflective of a preference for a 3D representation based on a characteristic of the 2D curves which reflects how concept drawings are commonly perceived to represent 3D objects; and performing an optimization which minimizes the energy function to thereby determine the 3D representation.

Methods and systems for estimating three-dimensional information from two-dimensional concept drawings

A multiscale data engine is configured to generate a three-dimensional (3D) environment based on a multiscale 3D dataset. The multiscale data engine is also configured to generate a spatial hierarchy within the 3D environment by selectively grouping 3D objects within the 3D environment. The multiscale data engine is further configured to identify specific 3D objects within the 3D environment in response to input received from an end-user and based on spatial properties associated with the 3D objects. The multiscale data engine is also configured to generate various navigation graphical user interfaces (GUIs) that allow the end-user to navigate the 3D environment.

Multiscale three-dimensional orientation

One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for providing an end user with a multiscale three-dimensional (3D) navigation experience in design software application programs. An adaptive multiscale 3D navigation system allows an end user to transition between a planetary scale down to an individual building scale. The end user may navigate within the building, inspecting object details within the building. The size of the environment is sensed automatically, and the viewing and travel parameters are adjusted accordingly to provide the end user with a seamless navigation experience. A consistent navigation experience is supported at various scales, and real-time collision detection is provided. Scale computation for 3D scenes and collision detection may be based on a generated depth cubemap of the environment.
