A method for controlling characteristics of light emitted from a surgical light includes remotely configuring a surgical light, using a remote computing system communicatively connected to the surgical light, by selecting which of a plurality of characteristics of light emitted from the surgical light are adjustable by operation of a handle assembly of the surgical light. The method includes adjusting, using the handle assembly, at least one characteristic of the plurality of characteristics of the light emitted from the surgical light according to the selection of which of the plurality of characteristics of light emitted from the surgical light are adjustable by operation of the handle assembly.

Sterile handle control mechanism

Disclosed herein are systems and methods for powering light sources to reduce optical and/or electrical interference between the light sources and optical components in the same environment. The light sources may be powered using power modulation signals, whose frequency may be varied across modulation periods. Optionally, the frequency may be varied randomly or pseudo randomly. The systems and methods may additionally or alternatively introduce phase modulation into the control signals for driving channels of light sources. A phase difference in the control signals to at least two channels can reduce or avoid simultaneous or synchronous driving of the channels. The systems and methods described herein can vary one or more properties (e.g., frequency, phase shift, delay, duty cycle, power, etc.) of the power modulation signals.

Power modulation for powering one or more light sources

Provided herein are systems and methods for transmitting medical imaging data across a transmission channel that may be bandwidth constrained. In one or more examples, the system and methods can include transmitting the medical imaging data across a channel using a first specification, and then changing the specification in response to a detected reduction in the available bandwidth of the channel. In one or more examples, the second specification can be based on the type of video data being transmitted. In one or more examples, the medical video data can be apportioned into a region of interest and a region of non-interest, and each region can be transmitted across the channel based on the available bandwidth of the channel.

Systems and methods for transmitting medical video data in a bandwidth constrained environment

A surgical light including a light housing having at least one light source therein and a handle assembly extending from the light housing, with the handle assembly including a knob and a cover. The handle assembly is rotatably connected to the light housing. The cover covers the knob. Engaging the cover in a first mode and rotating the knob alters a first characteristic of light emitted from the at least one light source. Engaging the cover in a second mode and rotating the knob alters a second characteristic of light emitted from the at least one light source.

A suspension arm assembly including at least three horizontally aligned members relatively rotatable about each other. Each adjacent pair of members are connected to each other by a joint. At least one conduit extends along the at least three horizontally aligned members, with the at least one conduit being routed horizontally along the horizontally aligned members and not being located within a periphery of the at least three horizontally aligned members.

Medical multi-link boom

Adjustment of a surgical light is provided to optimize viewing an object. First, a distance between the surgical light and the object being viewed can be measured and the light output from the surgical light can be adjusted depending on the distance. Second, the surgical light can be moved to optimize the direction of light emitted from the surgical light according to the position of light from visible locating light sources. Third, the light emitted from a pair of light assemblies can be adjusted to ensure that the intensity of the light at an area of overlap of the light assemblies stays below a predetermined level to help prevent eye fatigue and dehydration and excessive radiation of a wound at the area of overlap.

Method and system for maximizing the output of surgical lights

A surgical room power system including at least one source of power wired to a power source for a surgical room, the at least one source of power being wired to the surgical room; at least one power receiver; and a surgical power consumer wired to the at least one power receiver, the surgical power consumer being configured to assist a surgeon during a surgical procedure on a patient. The at least one source of power wirelessly transfers power to the at least one power receiver for powering the surgical power consumer.

A surgical light including a substrate having a substantially planar top surface with a plurality of light sources on the substantially planar top surface, with each of the light sources emitting light in a cone when activated. The cone has a first spread angle. An optical system having a first area such that the light emitted from the light sources has a second spread angle after passing through the first area and a second area focusing or redirecting the light passing through the first area at a location a desired distance from the optical system. The second spread angle is less than the first spread angle.

Surgical light with beam redirecting optics

A lighting device and system for illuminating the interior of a vehicle, aircraft or building is provided. The lighting device and system includes a channel case made from a thermally conductive material, including aluminum. The channel case has a bottom edge and two opposed side edges forming an interior space. A circuit board is disposed within the interior space of the channel case and the circuit board includes circuit traces on the top, bottom or both sides of the circuit board. A heat transfer device is attached to the bottom of the circuit board and is further attached to the bottom of the channel case. A plurality of light-emitting diodes and resistors are mounted on the circuit board in series and generate light through a lens which is attached to the two opposed side edges of the channel case.
