Techniques are described for facilitating access of computing system users to restricted functionality, such as internal functionality of a business or other organization (e.g., internal systems and/or confidential information available to some or all business employees or other organization members). The restricted functionality access may in some situations be provided in conjunction with publicly available information from the organization, such as to use that publicly available information as part of a user interface that allows an authorized subset of users to access the restricted functionality. In some situations, the restricted functionality access may be facilitated by an access provider system that executes on a client computing system of an authorized user, such as a program operating in conjunction with another presentation program that presents publicly available information (e.g., as an extension program for the presentation program), and that modifies the interactions available to the user when using the presentation program.

Facilitating access to restricted functionality

Techniques are described for facilitating access of computing system users to restricted or other functionality, such as internal functionality of a business or other organization. The functionality access may be facilitated by an access provider system that executes on a client computing system of an authorized user, such as a program operating in conjunction with another presentation program that presents publicly available information by modifying interactions available to the user when using the presentation program or otherwise providing additional information to the user. In some situations, the additional information is provided by temporarily modifying the information being presented by the presentation program, such as to provide additional information that is related to functionality corresponding to a subject area of the currently presented information and/or corresponding to an aspect of the currently presented information that is indicated by the user.

Facilitating access to functionality via displayed information

The subject matter of this specification can be implemented in, among other things, a computer-implemented method for application lifecycle management. The method includes receiving crash reports from a first version of an application at multiple initial computing devices. The first version of the application is from a first group of versions. The method further includes determining that the crash reports include more than a threshold amount of crash reports. The method further includes determining that a second version of the application from a second group of versions corrects a cause of the crash reports. The method further includes providing instructions to the initial computing devices to retrieve updates to the application from the second group of versions rather than the first group of versions.

Managing groups of application versions

The subject matter of this specification can be implemented in, among other things, a computer-implemented method for application lifecycle management including providing a first application version to initial computing devices. The method includes receiving first crash reports from the first application version. The method includes determining that the first crash reports include more than a first threshold of reports. The method includes preventing provision of the first application version to additional computing devices in response to determining that the first crash reports include more than the first threshold of reports. The method includes receiving second crash reports from the first application version. The method includes determining that the second crash reports include less than a second threshold of reports. The method includes providing the first application version to the additional computing devices in response to determining that the second crash reports include less than the second threshold of reports.

Application version deployment using crash reports

Disclosed are various embodiments for client-side internationalization of network pages. A network page and code that localizes the network page are obtained from a server. The code that localizes the network page is executed in a client and determines a locale associated with the client. One or more internationalized elements are identified in the network page. The internationalized elements are replaced with corresponding localized translations. The network page is rendered for display in the client after the network page has been localized.

The subject matter of this specification can be implemented in, among other things, a computer-implemented method for identifying causes of application crashes. The method includes receiving crash reports from multiple computing devices resulting from a problem that occurs in an application in operation at the computing devices. The crash reports include sets of properties that describe system states of the computing devices where the problem occurred. The method further includes identifying similarities between one or more properties in the sets of properties from the crash reports. The method further includes identifying differences between one or more properties in the sets of properties from the crash reports. The method further includes identifying one or more candidates for a cause of the problem in the application based on a clustering of the similarities and the differences. The method further includes generating a report that includes the one or more candidates.

Identifying causes of application crashes

Disclosed are various embodiments for facilitating access to multiple facets of data. A registry is maintained for multiple facets for a type of business object. Each of the facets corresponds to a distinct set of properties for the type of business object. Two or more facets are hosted by different data stores. The type of business object has a common identifier for each one of the respective facets. A request for a listing of facets for the type of business object is obtained from a client. The listing of facets is provided to the client. The listing of facets is configured to facilitate access to data for each of the facets in the listing from the data stores for the client.
