An electrical power transfer system for selectively connecting a load to a first power source or a second power source includes a first switch having an input selectively connected to the first power source and an output connected to the load. A second switch includes an input and an output connected to the load. An isolation device has its input connected to the second power source and its output connected to the input of the second switch to provide a continuous neutral path for the second power source and to isolate a neutral current path of the load from the second power source.

Transfer switch system with neutral current management

A power supply includes an isolation transformer. The isolation transformer includes a primary winding and N secondary windings, where N is an integer. The primary winding receives a first alternating current voltage. Each of the N secondary windings generates a second alternating current voltage. M rectifiers convert the second alternating current voltages to a direct current voltage, where M is an integer. X inverters convert the direct current voltage to a third alternating current voltage, where X is an integer. A reference transformer is electrically coupled between the X inverters and output terminals of the power supply, is connected in parallel with the output terminals, and is configured to provide at least one of a neutral reference and a ground reference.

Substation based high voltage uninterruptible power supply

A support system for an electrical device arranges the plurality of heat-sink assemblies in an orientation that allows the forces associated with an electrical fault that are transferred to the support structure to be reduced. The arrangement allows the electrical fault forces to cancel one another out such that the resulting net force applied to the support structure is significantly reduced. The size, strength and/or robustness of the support system can be reduced as the forces transmitted thereto are greatly reduced. The heat-sink assemblies can be arranged to facilitate ease of maintenance by allowing the heat-sink assemblies to be removed from a front access panel of the electrical device.

The present disclosure provides a method and system for mounting a current transformer in proximity to a circuit breaker of an electrical system. Generally, a plurality of current transformers (CTs) are provided to measure a plurality of branches from a main power supply and are accumulated on a sensor module. In at least one embodiment, the sensor module includes a molded polymer mounting support that can support the CTs. The polymer molded mounting support departs from the standard circuit board and is substantially less fragile. A wiring channel is provided within the sensor module so that CT output wiring can be safely routed to the output connector using as few as two soldered connections, rather than the typical six soldered connections required in existing branch monitoring systems. Multiple sensor modules can be stacked to allow continued alignment with the CTs and software/firmware/hardware can allow for any current polarity changes.

Sensor module, system, and method for sensors in proximity to circuit breakers

The present disclosure provides a method and system using a power protector, such as an uninterruptible power supply (power protector) or a power line conditioner. An input of the power protector can be coupled to an output of one or more of circuit breakers using electrical buss bars for unique modularity and easy installation and replacement. Further, an input of a second set of circuit breakers can be coupled to an output of the power protector to backfeed the power through the second set of circuit breakers and out through the buss bar to one or more electrical loads. Additional power protectors can be used for capacity and/or redundancy. A stacked buss bar system can be used that consolidates the system into a compact assembly heretofore unknown in the industry. In at least some embodiments, the system can be compatible with standard panelboards having circuit breakers disposed therein.

Adaptive power system with improved efficiency and distribution space reduction

The present disclosure provides a method and system for mounting a current transformer in proximity to a circuit breaker of an electrical system. Generally, a sensor assembly contains a plurality of current transformers (CTs) for measuring power wires from a main power supply. To accommodate measuring a greater number of wires than one sensor assembly can service, a plurality of sensor assemblies can be mounted end-to-end. The sensor assemblies can have symmetrical recessed portions that laterally align when mounted end-to-end by inverting one of the sensor assemblies. The lateral alignment allows CTs mounted lateral to the recessed portions to be aligned with corresponding circuit breakers, so that wires passing from the circuit breakers are aligned with the CTs, reducing bending stresses on the CTs in contrast to prior efforts. Changes in polarity caused by the inversion can be adjusted by software, firmware, hardware or a combination thereof.

System and method of mounting current transducers in proximity to circuit breakers

The present invention is directed to an electrical equipment enclosure assembly, particularly those used to house power distribution equipment. The enclosure uses the internal structural members and panel components to form the enclosure frame. The present invention is also designed to be mounted in the 2 ft.&#xd7;2 ft. (600 mm&#xd7;600 mm) tile space provided in raised flooring. The enclosure is also provided with a junction box that is mounted beneath the raised flooring to allow users to terminate wiring.

Remote distribution cabinet

A cabinet for an uninterrupted power source (UPS) is disclosed. The cabinet has three portions that characterize the frame. A front portion contains capacitor assemblies, power DC Link, power electronic components, and a control panel. The control panel and power DC Link are situated for front access and cover the power electronic components and capacitors. A rear portion holds a plurality of magnetic components. The magnetic components are accessible from the back of the cabinet and can be installed last in the assembly of the cabinet and configured for a specific voltage rating. A bus portion is divided from the front and rear portions and contains the bus bars for electrical connection of the UPS.

UPS cabinet and method of assembly

A system of ancillary cabinet for use with an uninterruptible power source (UPS) is disclosed. The ancillary cabinets have modular and reversible features that facilitate the installation of an uninterruptible power supply. The frames for the ancillary cabinets use a galvanized riveted frame design. The frames use pop rivets to allow the units to be shipped flat and assembled easily in the field. The overall size of the ancillary cabinets are consistent with the dimensions of a UPS cabinet. Specifically, the depth and height of the ancillary cabinets match the UPS. Also, the overall cabinet design matches the style, color, and texture of the UPS cabinet. The ancillary cabinets may be bolted to each other and/or the UPS cabinet to form a specific UPS system. The cabinets are serviceable by front access. An inter-cabinet wiring trough (wiring access) in the ancillary cabinets matches up with the UPS.

Ancillary cabinet system for an uninterruptible power supply

An uninterruptible power supply capability is provided for line regulators of a variety synthesizing a desired waveshape for presentation to a critical load. A static switch is active intermediate the input of the line regulator and the line power supply to provide a power path during normal operation. Upon the occurrence of a line defect, a stand-by power path is provided which includes a source of d.c. stand-by energy such as rechargeable batteries which supply input to an unregulated inverter which, in turn, provides an unregulated input through an inductance to the input of the line regulator. Transfer is achieved by preliminary voltage level adjustment at the inverter and the inverter itself is employed to assure commutation off of the switching components of the static switch. Detection of line fault is made by detecting any instantaneous phase shift in the line input.
