A barricade or barrier for road-warning signs, which utilizes just one vertical, mounting support-pole to which is mounted the road-hazard or road-warning sign, or the like. The single, vertical support-pole is mounted to a base made of a used tire by means of a pair of bracket-arms, with the two bracket-arms being vertically spaced apart and extending transversely to each other. The two bracket-arms are bolted to the used-tire base, with the upper bracket-arm being bolted to the upper, annular surface of the used tire, and with the lower bracket-arm being bolted to the bottom, annular surface of the tire-base, whereby the two bracket-arms sandwich the tire therebetween for a strong, stable mounting of the support-pole secured to the two bracket-arms. The support-pole is removably mounted to the mounting bracket-arms, and itself is modular in construction to allow for easy assembly and disassembly, and to ensure proper mounting of the two bracket-arms to the tire-base. The tire constituting the base is also provided with a series of drain-holes on its bottom surface and also on its annular rim, so that rain water may be drained out from the tire, regardless of the angular orientation of the barricade and its tire-base.

Testing apparatus for assembled printed circuit boards to assure that all the component values are correct and that all the components have been correctly inserted into the board. The testing apparatus performs its testing function without the need for physical guarding, and it operates on node oriented complex-Valued Admittance measurements. The testing apparatus includes a computer which translates the measurements into component data by solving only linear equations.

Printed circuit board assembly tester

A high voltage switching circuit for a printed circuit board tester, or the like, utilizing field effect transistor (FET) switches which are controlled by CMOS logic circuitry, which incorporates a voltage level shifter circuit for high voltage switching operations, and which performs its switching functions with a minimum of FET's and associated elements, as compared with similar switching circuits in the prior art.

A programmable servo pattern generator for use in a magnetic disc drive servowriter system. The servo pattern generator of the present invention stores a multiplicity of different servo patterns in a convenient user-oriented format, and it provides high frequency pulse trains of NRZ data representing the different servo patterns. These different servo patterns are derived from the pattern generator of the invention as required and in the particular formats to be written into the magnetic disc drives of the same or different manufacturers.

Programmable servo pattern generator

A portable servowriter system for writing a closed clock track and servo tracks on one or more of the fixed discs of a fixed disc magnetic disc drive without the aid of a mechanical head positioner; and which is also capable of writing a closed clock track and servo tracks (either on a dedicated disc surface or of the embedded form) on one or more of the discs of a rotating disc magnetic disc drive with the aid of a mechanical positioner.

Servowriter system for magnetic disc drives

A system is provided for aligning the read/write magnetic heads in a multi-head disc drive which includes a four quadrant balanced circuit and which responds to the peak amplitudes of dibits recorded in servo tracks on the discs of a prerecorded servo disc pack as read by the various heads to produce, without offset errors, digital signals representative of individual head misalignments; the system being insensitive to distortions of waveform. The system can also be used to provide an analog position signal to a feedback servo mechanism for positioning the head, or heads, which is insensitive to waveform distortions and to baseline shift due to write recovery.

Magnetic disc drive head alignment system

A portable, programmable, microprocessor-controlled, universal field test unit is provided which is capable of performing functional tests on most, if not all, of the better known present-day disc drives, including the 80, 160 and 300 megabyte types. The unit to be described will be termed herein as a programmable disc drive qualifier, and it is capable of carrying out a wide variety of special test programs, as well as standard diagnostic programs, and it may also be used to format disc packs with many different formats, including thirty-two and eighty-six sector formats. The qualifier may be internally set to count all data errors, or only uncorrectable errors. The qualifier, in the embodiment to be described, is controlled by a combination of twelve operation keys and twelve numeric keys. A complete instruction is generated by the actuation of one of the operation keys and one of the numeric keys. Individual instructions may be executed in the unit, or it may be run automatically under program control. Programs may be created by the actuation of the operation keys and numeric keys, or they may originate from a pre-programmed memory.

Portable field test unit for computer data and program storage disc drive

A system is provided for recording a closed clock track on a rotating magnetic memory disc or drum. The system includes a temporary clock generating circuit for recording clock flux reversals in a temporary clock track on the memory, and a temporary clock reading circuit for sensing the flux reversals in the temporary clock track and for recording flux reversals at a higher frequency in a final clock track on the memory. The temporary clock generating circuit is automatically controlled to cause selected pairs of the flux reversals in the temporary track to be recorded at a certain frequency ratio to the flux reversal pairs in the final track, and to cause the remaining flux reversal pairs in the temporary clock track to be recorded at a different frequency ratio to the flux reversal pairs in the final clock track to avoid track closure error. The temporary clock reading circuit is automatically controlled to respond to the flux reversals in the temporary clock track which accrue at the first and second frequency ratios and still record the flux reversals in the final track at a selected constant higher frequency.
