A wireless network system () and a method for commissioning a wireless network system () is described. The network system () comprises at least a network device () and a joining device (). In a commissioning mode, the network device () broadcasts network identification information. The joining device () sends, upon reception of the network identification information, a request to said network device () to join the network, comprising a predefined address of said joining device (). The network device () assigns said joining device () a network address and stores corresponding data. The network device () sends joining information comprising at least said network address to said joining device () using said predefined address and said joining device () receives the network address, so that the joining device () is addressable in the network system () using said network address.

Commissioning a network system

A remote controller is arranged for selecting a light source among a plurality of light sources. The remote controller has an omnidirectional transmitter and is arranged to instruct, by means of the omnidirectional transmitter, the light sources to transmit a directional signal comprising a code, which is unique for each light source. Further, the remote controller has a directional signal receiver, and is arranged to receive the directional signals from the light sources, and signal comparison circuitry connected with the directional signal receiver. The remote controller is arranged to select one of the light sources on basis of the received directional signals. Furthermore, the remote controller comprises a transmission indicator, which is arranged to generate an indication signal, indicative of a successful omnidirectional transmission, and it is arranged to initiate the selection of one of the light sources by means of the indication signal.

The invention relates to a home automation system and a method for controlling the same. In order to stably control a continuing concerted adjustment action of a continuously variable parameter by means of few and low-sized commands in order to avoid overloading of a low-data rate network while providing means for fast and unobtrusive correction of failures due to missed commands, it is provided a method for controlling a wireless home automation system, the home automation system being arranged as a network comprising at least one controller and a plurality of devices, wherein the method comprises the steps of sending a start command from the controller to a group of devices comprising an action type and a transaction ID and sending a stop command from the controller to the devices comprising the transaction ID and a controller counter.

Home automation system and method for controlling the same

The invention relates to synchronizing settings in a home control system such as settings for lighting scenes in a lighting system with a plurality of light units. A basic idea of the invention is to synchronize settings such as lighting scene settings in a home control system with a network of devices such as light units and multiple control devices for controlling the network devices. An embodiment of the invention provides a device (Sync) for synchronizing settings in a home control system comprising a memory () for storing settings of one or more of devices (L-L) of the home control system, a communication unit () for receiving signals () from and transmitting signals () to control devices (RC-RC) of the home control system, and a processor () for synchronizing stored settings in the home control system upon receipt of a signal () from a control device (RC, RC) of the home control system by transmitting a synchronization signal (). Thus, all control devices may have access to all settings. Particularly, a user may control all settings with one control devices and does not have to remember which settings are stored in which control device.

Updating scenes in remote controllers of a home control system

A wireless network system () and a method of operating a wireless network system () is described. The wireless network system () comprises at least a control device () and a function device (). The control device () being configured to send an application control command to said function device (&#x2033;) with a first network address (AD) and the function device () being configured upon reception of said application control command to send an acknowledgement signal to said control device (). The control device () sends conflict information to said function device () in case more than one acknowledgement signal is received, and said function device () upon reception of said conflict information stores a second network address (AD), different from said first network address (AD) in said device configuration memory (), so that said function device () is addressable in said network system () using said second network address (AD).

Wireless network system with enhanced address conflict resolving functionality

A control system () comprises: A command signal comprises a target address code, a network ID code, a sender address code, and a command code. Normally, the controller only responds to control signals if target address code, network ID code, and sender address code match with the information in memory. Advanced commissioning of wireless network systems

Spherical aberration correction is provided for CD writing in a double (CD+DVD), triple (CD+DVD+BD) or quadruple (CD+DVD+BD+HD-DVD) writer, which use the same light path for CD and DVD.
