Systems, methods, and apparatuses for receiving wireless power using a wireless power receiver client architecture are disclosed. A simplified wireless power receiver apparatus includes an energy storage device and a radio frequency (RF) transceiver including an antenna. Energy harvester circuitry is coupled to the energy storage device and the RF transceiver, and control circuitry is coupled to the energy storage device, the RF transceiver, and the energy harvester. The control circuitry causes the RF transceiver to: establish a connection with a wireless power transmitter (WPT), transmit a beacon signal to the WPT, and receive a wireless power signal from the WPT. The control circuitry causes the energy harvester to deliver at least a portion of energy of the wireless power signal to the energy storage device for storage therein. In some embodiments, a single antenna is utilized both for transmitting the beacon signal and for receiving the wireless power signal.

Simplified wireless power receiver architecture

An enclosure for a wirelessly chargeable battery includes a housing having a base and an opposing open end, where a hole is bored through the base. The enclosure includes an end piece attached to the housing proximal the base and having an opposing open end. The enclosure includes a first conductive coating formed on an interior surface of the housing and a first surface of the base, and a second conductive coating formed on an interior surface of the end piece and a second surface of the base, where the housing and the end piece are configured in dimensions that conform to standardized battery dimensions. Battery cell(s) may be positioned inside a cavity in the housing, and circuitry may be positioned inside a cavity of the end piece. The enclosure enables highly efficient use of interior space and volume of the enclosure to maximize battery charge capacity.

Devices and systems for providing wirelessly chargeable batteries with improved charge capacities

The technology described herein is directed to wireless power chargers with integrated power receiving facilities. Indeed, embodiments of the present disclosure describe systems, methods, and apparatuses for implementing wireless power chargers with integrated power receiving facilities. In some implementations, a portable wireless power charging apparatus is disclosed. The portable wireless power charging apparatus includes one or more antennas configured to wirelessly receive directed wireless power from a wireless power transmission system via a first radiative wireless power transfer technology in a multipath wireless power delivery environment. The portable wireless power charging apparatus further includes a wireless power receiver configured to convert the wireless power received via the first radiative wireless power transfer technology to direct current (DC) power, and a wireless power transmitter configured to wirelessly transmit the DC power to a portable electronic device via a nonradiative wireless power transfer technology.

Portable wireless power charger with integrated wireless power receiving facilities

A gate assembly including a pivoting gate element secured to a doorway and/or passageway and employing a dual actuator latching mechanism having a simple yet unique locking lever and pawl mechanism for remote and manual latch release freeing the gate to swing to an open position, and automatic re-locking of the latching mechanism. The gate assembly includes a frame element for supporting the pivoting gate element and securing the gate to a doorway and/or passageway as well as latching the gate to a closed position at the frame element.

Gate assembly employing a dual actuator latching mechanism

A protective case includes a shell for receiving and at least partially covering an electronic device. The shell includes a first material and has a back portion and side portions extending from the back portion. The back portion is configured to be adjacent to the back surface of the electronic device when the electronic device is installed. The case also includes a core comprising a second material having a magnetic permeability substantially greater than a magnetic permeability of the first material. The core is affixed to the back portion of the shell at a location that coincides with a center region of the wireless charging coil of the wireless charging circuitry of the installed electronic device. The core increases magnetic coupling between the wireless charging coil of the installed electronic device and a source charging coil when the protective case is placed in proximity to the source charging coil.

Electronic device case with inductive coupling features

A rechargeable battery pack includes a housing, one or more rechargeable batteries contained in the housing, a first inductive coil, a second inductive coil, and electrical circuitry. The first inductive coil is configured for inductively transferring first electrical power from the one or more rechargeable batteries to a first electronic device through a first wireless charging interface according to a first charging interface protocol. The second inductive coil is configured for inductively transferring second electrical power from the one or more rechargeable batteries to a second electronic device according to a second charging interface protocol that is different than the first charging interface protocol simultaneous to the transferring of the first electrical power to the first electronic device. The electrical circuitry is configured for driving the first inductive coil and the second inductive coil for inductively transferring the electrical power to the first and the second electronic devices.

Battery pack for wirelessly charging two or more devices

A case for an electronic device is provided. The case includes a battery and electrical circuitry. The electrical circuitry is configured to receive electrical power from a power source connected to the case, supply the electrical power to the electronic device, and monitor an amount of current of the electrical power used by the electronic device. The electrical circuitry is also configured to charge the battery using a remaining amount of current of the electrical power where the sum of the amount of current used by the electronic device and the remaining amount of current do not exceed a current limit for the power source.

Electronic device case

A rechargeable battery pack includes a housing, a rechargeable battery, a first inductive coil, a second inductive coil, and electrical circuitry. The first inductive coil is proximate a first surface of the housing and configured for wirelessly receiving electrical power from an external power source. The electrical circuitry stores the received electrical power in the rechargeable battery. The second inductive coil is proximate a second surface of the housing. The second inductive coil is configured for wirelessly transmitting at least a portion of the received electrical power stored in the rechargeable battery to the electronic device.

Recharegable battery pack

A protective case for an electronic device includes a cover, a rechargeable battery, first and second electrical connectors, and electrical circuitry. The first electrical connector is accessible at an outer surface of the cover for electrically connecting to an external power source. The second electrical connector is accessible at an inner surface of the cover for electrically connecting the protective case to the electronic device. The electrical circuitry distributes the received electrical power to the electronic device and to the rechargeable battery. The electrical circuitry also distributes stored electrical power from the rechargeable battery to the electronic device. Distribution of the stored electrical power to the electronic device is conditioned upon an input received from the electronic device, a mode of the protective case, and or a signal received at the protective case.

Power case for electronic device

A protective cover for an electronic device includes a memory configured to store at least an active firmware image and another firmware image, and circuitry configured to execute instructions provided in the firmware image. The circuitry receives commands and a firmware image included from the electronic device. The circuitry determines whether the firmware is targeted to a non-active block of the memory and if so, writes the firmware image to the non-active memory block.

Peripheral device and method for updating firmware thereof

A protective case for an electronic device includes first and second case portions, a rechargeable battery, first and second electrical connectors, a switch, and electrical circuitry. The second case portion is removably attachable to the first case portion. The first electrical connector is accessible at an outer surface of the second case portion for electrically connecting to an external power source. The second electrical connector is accessible at an inner surface of the second case portion for electrically connecting the protective case to the electronic device. The switch is accessible on the second case portion and is user operable. The electrical circuitry distributes the received electrical power to the electronic device and to the rechargeable battery. The electrical circuitry also distributes stored electrical power from the rechargeable battery to the electronic device. Distribution of the stored electrical power to the electronic device is conditioned upon a state of the switch.

A case for an electronic device is provided. The case includes a battery, an interface to receive electrical current from an external power source, and a computer processor. The computer processor is configured to execute computer-readable instructions to receive a communication from the electronic device, limit the received electrical current to a current limit, and allocate the electrical current among the battery and the electronic device based on the received communication.
