A device is provided that is intended to simultaneously measure and identify at least two characteristics of multiphase fluid flows through the device and/or equipment attached to the device. The device has a lower measurement medium invasive compartment comprised of at least two ultrasonic and/or acoustic transducers, a piezo-resistive sensing element, and a resistance temperature detector (RTD) to make simultaneous independent measurement. A pathway connects to the device's upper electronic compartment comprised of an accelerometer array, multiple stacked circuit boards providing power, sensing interface, processing, calculation, and network communication functionalities. The device is capable of measuring, processing, and calculating simultaneous independent pressure, temperature, flow rate, and vibration measurement. The device reports data to an external system via either wired and/or wireless communication channel.

Device and method for fluid and equipment monitoring

A method for transmitting upstream data in a cable network is provided. The method includes a cable modem (CM) receiving a generic service identifier (G-SID) included in a corresponding information element (IE) in a data over cable service interface specification (DOCSIS) upstream bandwidth allocation MAP message. The G-SID is a unique identifier assigned to the CM. The method includes the CM transmitting the upstream data for one or more service flows of the CM via at least a portion of the CM bandwidth allocation.

Method and apparatus for transmitting upstream data in a cable network

An echo cancellation training method in a cable modern is provided, comprising receiving an echo cancellation service ID (EC SID) assigned for echo cancellation training, the cable modem receiving the EC SID from a cable head end in an information element (IE) in a map (MAP or P-MAP) defining a time and frequency of upstream transmission opportunities for the cable modem, the EC SID establishing when the cable modem may perform the echo cancellation training in a downstream channel allocated to the cable modem, transmitting an echo cancellation test signal upstream to the cable head end via an upstream channel allocated to the cable modem and in a time slot specified by the received EC SID in the map, and measuring noise in one or more downstream channels allocated to the cable modem, with the noise resulting from the transmission of the echo cancellation test signal on the upstream channel.

Upstream echo cancellation in full duplex communications

A method implemented by a cable modem of a cable network includes sending an upstream test signal during at least one frequency division duplex minislot assigned to the cable modem, receiving other upstream test signals from other cable modems, measuring interference in each received test signal from the other cable modems, and reporting the interference measurement for each received test signal to a cable modem termination system.

Interference discovery for cable modems

A method, system, and apparatus for calibration for cable modem (CM) echo cancellation (EC) training in full duplex (FDX) coaxial networks is provided. A CM receives a current resource block assignment message (RBA) from a cable modem termination system (CMTS), and determines if designated channels available for assignment as downstream (DS) channels or upstream (US) channels have changed assignment values from a previously received RBA, and if EC training has been performed on the designated channels for the current RBA. If the designated channels have changed assignment values and EC training has not been performed on the designated channels for the current RBA, the CM performs EC training on the designated channels for the current RBA.

Cable modem echo cancellation training in full duplex coaxial networks

Disclosed herein is a multi-stage echo cancellation scheme. The disclosed embodiments include an apparatus and method for monitoring and canceling echoes greater than 25 dB in a coaxial cable plant. The method includes obtaining echo channel estimate coefficients from a cable node. The method determines a location and strength of each partial echo in an impulse response using the echo channel estimate coefficients. Optionally, the method determines a frequency response of each partial echo in the impulse response.

Multi-stage echo cancelation scheme to run FDX in coax cable plant

A cable modem is provided that comprises: a base station interface; a cable network interface that connects the cable modem to a cable modem termination system and one or more other cable modems, the cable network interface communicating using orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA); a memory storage comprising instructions; and one or more processors in communication with the cable network interface, the base station interface, and the memory storage. The one or more processors execute the instructions to: receive, via the base station interface, coordination data addressed to a first cable modem of the one or more other cable modems; receive, from the cable modem termination system via the cable network interface, an allocation of a resource block in an OFDMA symbol; and transmit, to the first cable modem via the cable network interface, in the allocated resource block in the OFDMA symbol, the coordination data.
