A cranking mechanism preferably includes a planetary gear, a drive shaft, a one way bearing, a clutch assembly, and at least one drive unit. The clutch preferably includes a clutch pressure plate, a flywheel, friction surfaces and at least one friction plate. Each drive unit includes a carrier, a spool and a flywheel. The one way bearing and the clutch assembly are axial on the drive shaft. A pressure locking nut is threaded on to a threaded end of the crank shaft to exert pressure on the clutch assembly. The sun gear is fixed on the drive shaft. The at least one drive unit is axial with the drive shaft, and fixed with the carrier of the planetary gear set. The pressure locking nut is tightened against the clutch assembly to frictionally engage the drive shaft with the at least one drive unit.

A projectile launching device includes self-timing without cam lean. The projectile launching device preferably includes a rail, a riser, two energy storing components, (such as two limbs), two cams, a launch string, and at least two cables. The ends of the launch string are attached to the two cams. Opposing ends of first and second cables are coupled to the first and second cams. A mid-segment of the first and second cables are slidably engaged with the first and second cable pulleys, respectively. The two cams are preferably built as mirror images of each other at a centerline of the rail. The two cams include a launch string track, having identical, but mirrored, upper and lower cable tracks. A stop is formed on each cam to prevent the cam from being able to rotate in a direction opposite the direction of drawing, when the bow is at rest.

A projectile launching device includes self-timing without cam lean. The accessory mount may be worn on a belt or engaged with any end use article, such as a bow, a tree, a tree stand. The accessory mount shall have radial indexing provisions, allowing a receiver to rotate about the axis of the provisions.

A worm gear assembly wherein the worm wheel gear is axially coupled with a shaft and a coupler. The coupler may be selectable from a first position locked with the wheel gear and the shaft to a second position unlocked with the wheel gear and the shaft. The coupler may be interactive with the worm wheel gear, or another component coupled with the shaft.

A crossbow with a cocking mechanism having a worm gear assembly coupled with a spool, that may also be utilized with an optional built in, removable motor gearbox assembly and power source. The motor gearbox assembly may or may not have a clutch assembly, when rotational force reaches a predetermined amount, rotation of the drive shaft stopses. Switches may be provided to start, stop, and reverse the direction of rotation of the motor gearbox assembly, as well as switches and or circuits that may control operation of the motor gear set.

The two cams are built as mirror images of each other, each cam having a cable payout track, a bowstring track, and a cable take-up track.

The ends of the launch string are attached to the two cams. The cam assemblies are made having a cam body and a pivoting shaft with integrated cable track(s) coupled to each other. The two cam assemblies are built as mirror images of each other, or identical from side to side.

A crossbow with a built in cranking mechanism preferably includes a crank shaft, a one way bearing, a clutch, a reel shaft, a driven gear and at least one reel. The clutch preferably includes a clutch housing, a clutch pack and a pressure washer installed in a frame or stock of the crossbow. The clutch housing includes a clutch pack housing and a drive gear. The one way bearing and the clutch are retained on the crank shaft. A hand knob is threaded on to the crank shaft to exert pressure on the clutch pack. The driven gear is pressed on to the reel shaft. The at least one reel is retained on at least one end of the reel shaft. The hand knob is tightened against the clutch pack to frictionally engage the crank shaft with the drive gear. The drive gear rotates the at least one reel.

A crossbow having a built in manual cocking mechanism that may also be utilized with an optional built in, removable motor gearbox assembly and power source. The motor gearbox assembly may or may not have a clutch assembly, whereby rotational force reaches a predetermined amount, rotation of the drive shaft ceases. Switches may be provided to start, stop, and reverse the direction of rotation of the motor gearbox assembly, as well as switches and or circuits that may control operation of the motor gear set.
