To allow a third party system to more particularly identify sets of users for distributing content, an online system receives data from a third party system identifying users of the online system who have authorized communication with the third party system and stores information authorizing communication between the third party system and the users in user profiles associated with the user. The online system receives a request from the third party system to transmit a notification to online system users satisfying criteria specified by the request. User profiles including information authorizing communication between the third party system and online system users are identified by the online system, which selects a set of the identified user profiles associated with information satisfying the criteria specified by the request. The online system transmits the notification to client devices associated with users associated with the set of the identified user profiles.

Communicating notifications from a third party system to online system users via the online system

Embodiments are directed towards mobile application development in a cloud-based architecture. Mobile applications may be designed to communicate with a cloud platform over a network. Mobile application developers may be enabled to submit cloud code to cloud platforms for use by mobile applications. If cloud code is provided to a cloud platform, the cloud platform may perform one or more actions to authenticate the cloud code, such as, ensuring that that the user providing the cloud code is authorized to provide the cloud code. If the cloud code is authenticated the cloud platform may perform one or more actions to validate the cloud code. If validated, the cloud code may be activated for use by mobile applications and/or mobile application developers. Activation of the cloud code may include associating the cloud code with one or more function calls and/or with one or more trigger points.

Mobile development platform in a cloud based architecture

An online system receives from a third-party application on a client device, an anonymous login request to anonymously log a user of the online system into a third-party system associated with the third-party application. Responsive to receiving the anonymous login request, the online system generates a permissions user interface (UI) that provides an interface component including an option for the user to anonymously log into the third-party system using the user's login information for the online system. The online system provides the permissions UI to the client device, and receives permissions information from the client device. The online system generates an anonymous identifier that allows the user to login to the third-party system. The online system provides the anonymous identifier to the third-party application to allow anonymous login of the user into the third-party system in accordance with the permissions information.

Anonymous single sign-on to third-party systems

A system and method for enabling power applications over a single conductor pair. In one embodiment, data transformers are coupled to a single conductor pair using one or more direct current (DC) blocking elements that preserve an alternating current path. Power is injected onto the single conductor pair after the DC blocking elements and power is extracted from the single conductor pair before the DC blocking elements. Saturation of the data transformers by the injection of power onto the single pair is thereby prevented.
