The present invention relates to methods for reducing the population of (e.g., killing) arthropods employing compositions including medium chain peroxycarboxylic acid, and to the compositions. The methods include applying a medium chain peroxycarboxylic acid composition to an arthropod or a surface or area suspected of housing an arthropod.

A device for controlling blood-feeding insects is disclosed. The device includes a membrane containing a solution suitable for consumption by blood-feeding insects wherein the solution is comprised of a base, the base selected from the group consisting of up to 70 wt % NaCl in water, phosphate buffer, citric acid in water, and sodium lauryl sulfate in water; and wherein the solution has a pH of between about 6 and 8. An additional active ingredient may be added to the solution. The solution may be referred to as liquid bait. The membrane is suitable for blood-feeding insects to pierce or puncture in order to feed. A method of exterminating or controlling blood feeding insects is also disclosed along with novel bait solutions.

Insect bait station and method of using

A versatile pest station for use with interchangeable inserts includes a housing, a lock mechanism, a first insert, and a second insert. The housing includes a base, a lid, and an opening. The base and the lid form a cavity, and the opening provides access to the cavity. The base has a bottom surface and is configured and arranged to be securely mounted to a surface. The lock mechanism interlocks the base and the lid. The first insert is configured and arranged to fit within the cavity, and the first insert includes an entrance mechanism. The second insert is configured and arranged to fit within the cavity, and the second insert includes a snap trap. The first insert and the second insert are interchangeable for individual use with the housing, and the first insert and the second insert are elevated relative to the bottom surface of the base.

One aspect of the present invention provides a method of interchanging inserts in a pest station. A lock mechanism interlocking a lid to a base of a pest station is unlocked and the lid is opened. A first insert including an entrance mechanism is removed from a cavity of the pest station and a second insert including at least one of a bait, an attractant, and a snap trap is placed within the cavity of the pest station. The lid is closed and the locking mechanism is secured to interlock the lid to the base.

A touchless car wash composition, that can be made from a concentrate and diluted to use concentration using commonly available service water can comprise an ether amine or diamine in particular a fatty ether amine or diamine. The novel compositions are typically free of hydrocarbon solvents and silicone materials that are common in prior art compositions. The compositions are used in touchless car wash processes in which the materials are sprayed in the form of an aqueous dilute solution to remove soil from the vehicle surface. The aqueous compositions are self removing and very small amounts of the aqueous solutions remain to create water spotting on cleaned vehicle surfaces. The novel compositions of the invention can also contain a variety of other ingredients in a fully formulated system. Such ingredients include rapid dewatering of painted surfaces, improved cleanliness of glass and painted surfaces. A substantial reduction of water spotting and concentrates stability. When used in systems using the direct contact between a brush, the friction between the brush and the vehicle surface is substantially reduced.

Such a message can be combined with a musical program, other light displays, etc. The sensor can be mounted on the dispenser in the form of a push button, an actuator triggered by the installation of new chemical, can be a motion sensor detecting the presence of a user, can be a remote sensor sensing the presence of a user at a remote site from the dispenser, involving the use of equipment used in conjunction with the dispenser such as a urinal, toilet, bathroom sink, etc. The overall purpose of coupling a user proximity generated prompt to generating a message is the improved efficacy of use of the dispenser or its chemical contents.

Interactive dispenser for personal use chemical or personal care

There is provided an environmentally stable detergent article. Normally, hygroscopic caustic detergent materials can be made resistant to absorption of ambient humidity or water by introducing a barrier coating onto the caustic detergent. The barrier also renders the highly active alkaline material safe for human handling. The coated detergent article can further be enclosed in a film enclosure or wrapping which provides further protection for handling during production, shipment, storage and final end use. The coated article can be removed from any packaging material, inserted into a water spray-on dispenser and used to create a concentrated aqueous detergent for use in ware washing machines. In order to obtain control over dispensing, hydrophobic coatings can be nicked, split, peeled or partially removed using other means to provide an initial surface of caustic detergent exposed to the water spray. The water spray can then dispense the detergent and either melt or dissolve the hydrophobic coating in a controlled manner.
