Provided is a system and method for authentication of collectable objects. A hi-resolution digital camera in communication with a nonvolatile data storage device having a data partition capable of being made immutable is provided. The nonvolatile data storage device is compatible with a computerized device, and the hi-resolution digital camera is operated to record at least one hi-resolution digital image of at least one unique appearance characteristic of a collectable object at an image resolution of at least 300 pixel dots per inch at 1:1 image scale. The at least one hi-resolution digital image is stored in the data partition of the nonvolatile data storage device, together with additional image data. A tamper-resistant marking associated with the collectable object is placed on the nonvolatile data storage device.

System and method for authentication of collectable objects

Provided is a collectable display device, including at least one display panel having at least one user accessible opening for housing and displaying at least one collectable object. The display panel is configured to be connected or connectable to at least one auxiliary panel having visual markings relating to at least one collectable. The collectable display device also includes an electronic solid-state flash memory data storage device that is non-detachably secured to the auxiliary panel, and the solid-state flash memory device is having sufficient storage capacity to record and store at least one digital picture image associated with at least one appearance characteristic of at least one collectable object. In operation, the solid-state flash memory device is readable by an electronic device physically and electronically connected to the solid-state flash memory device. In some embodiments, the collectable object is a coin, a stamp, or a sports card, or the like.

Collectable display device

A protection, authentication, identification device for a collectable object is described. The device comprises a holder formed for assembly with at least one collectable object to provide protection and preservation of said collectable object. The holder is further formed to resist disassembly and separation with the collectable object, once it is assembled. The protection, authentication, identification device also comprises a data storage device which comprises data of at least one stored digital image of the collectable object. The data storage device is nondetachably secured to the protection, authentication, identification device. And, the data storage device is compatible with a standard computer system for display and inspection of the digital image of the collectable object by a user to aid the user in the authentication of the collectable object. In some embodiments, for example, the collectable object is a coin.

A space-efficient ergonomic telephony keypad is described which comprises three separate groups of four buttons collectively capable of performing twelve distinct electronic switch operations. Each button is formed for tactile operation. Each group has the four buttons positioned about equally around an imaginary central axis. And, each group of four buttons is positionally rotated about 45 degrees relative to the positioning of an adjacent group of four buttons.

A wireless security and access device including a housing, a wireless radio receiver embedded in the housing for receiving notification of an arrived message, a processor and memory embedded in the housing for processing and storing the notification, an indicator for displaying the notification of the arrived message and a radio transmitter embedded in the housing for transmitting a preset unique radio signal. The preset unique radio signal from the wireless security and access device is adapted to interface with a receiver of a personal computer, computer networks and peripheral devices, and public or private telecommunication system, preset to receive the unique radio signal.

A computer and mobile communication system for performing wireless telephone, personal organizer and/or schedule alert functions is provided. The system may have a wireless handset for recording and playing messages, and for performing scheduling functions. The computer may be located in a base station with a common housing which contains a cradle to provide a conduit for exchange of information between the computer and the handset, as well as the circuitry to charge a battery in the handset. The handset may be switched between a telephone mode and a personal organizer mode by opening and closing a protective cover. A method of operating the system is also disclosed.

A compact, ergonomic telephony keypad is described which comprises three principle buttons capable of performing twelve distinct electronic switch operations. The three principle buttons are positioned in a group comprising a telephony keypad with each button formed for tactile manipulation to achieve four of the twelve switch operations. Each button also has four tactile depressible areas positioned thereon around an imaginary central axis. The four tactile depressible areas are spaced about equally apart around the imaginary central axis of each of the principle buttons. And, the three principle buttons are spaced apart and positioned relative to each other so as to substantially maximize the spacing of the twelve depressible areas, while, substantially minimizing the spacing of the principle buttons.

Compact ergonomic telephony keypad

A computer monitor and computer system are described having multiple integrated display screens to allow for multi-tasking without any overlapping of images. The computer monitor includes a primary display platform, having a monitor screen, and at least one auxiliary display platform electrically and physically connected with said primary display platform. A hinge allows the display platforms to rotate relative to one another. The auxiliary display platform can rotate to a dosed position, covering the monitor screens of both display platforms. An activation/deactivation mechanism may be included on the monitor so that rotation to a closed position can deactivate the display monitors and rotation to an opened position can enliven the display monitors.

A method and apparatus for providing an integral computer and telephone system includes a CPU, a telephone line interface operatively linked to the CPU, and a display device operatively linked to the CPU. Audio input and output devices are operatively linked to the CPU. A communication module for transceiving wireless signals is operatively linked to a remote unit. The system includes a switching device connected to the CPU and the communication module, where the switching device provides selective operation of the CPU and the remote unit, whereby when a user selects remote unit telephony, the remote unit substantially increases privacy and facilitates portability via wireless operation while when the user selects telephony via the CPU, the CPU facilitates both audio and visual information exchange.

Method and apparatus providing an integral computer and telephone system

A method and apparatus is provided for notifying a subscriber via a telephone calling card that a message has arrived at the message center of a service subscriber. The messaging center may be a voice mail or e-mail system. In accordance with the method, the service provider receives and stores an incoming message for the subscriber. The service provider then transmits a radio signal to the telephone calling card of the subscriber indicating that the incoming message has arrived.
