A revolver having a frame, a cylinder, a trigger assembly, and a barrel. The cylinder is rotatable on its axis and is indexed to position a chamber at the six o'clock position. The barrel is in line with the chamber at the six o'clock position, allowing the revolver to fire a projectile from the six o'clock position, thus causing less barrel rise.

A crossbow with a de-cocking crank mechanism having sprockets preferably includes a cranking mechanism, which utilizes a clutch sprocket and clutch assembly axial to a drive gear, and a one-way bearing axial to a bearing sprocket to cock a crossbow. The clutch assembly includes a clutch sprocket, a flywheel surface, a friction disc, and a pressure plate. The use of a one-way bearing may control the rotation of the drive unit used to wind (take-up) an elongated connecting device. Functional properties of a crank mechanism for the winding and unwinding of the elongated connecting device such as a rope, chord or the like device for pulling a secondary object from a first position to a second position are well known in the art.

A crossbow with an inertia brake cocking device preferably utilizes a one-way bearing to control rotation of the drive unit used to wind (take-up) an elongated connecting device. Functional properties of an inertia brake mechanism (IBM) are well known. In its simplest form, an IBM has at least a first plate floating within a cavity, the first plate having a protrusion along an edge, and the cavity having recesses radially about its perimeter. Under controlled rotation in either direction, the IBM allows for the unrestricted rotation of the mechanism to which it is coupled. If the IBM senses a rapid acceleration of the spool, inertia moves the plate to engage a recess in the perimeter of the cavity, stopping uncontrolled rotation of the spool.

A cranking mechanism preferably includes a planetary gear, a drive shaft, a one way bearing, a clutch assembly, and at least one drive unit. The clutch preferably includes a clutch pressure plate, a flywheel, friction surfaces and at least one friction plate. Each drive unit includes a carrier, a spool and a flywheel. The one way bearing and the clutch assembly are axial on the drive shaft. A pressure locking nut is threaded on to a threaded end of the crank shaft to exert pressure on the clutch assembly. The sun gear is fixed on the drive shaft. The at least one drive unit is axial with the drive shaft, and fixed with the carrier of the planetary gear set. The pressure locking nut is tightened against the clutch assembly to frictionally engage the drive shaft with the at least one drive unit.

Cranking mechanism

A projectile launching device having a bowstring carrier operably coupled with a bowstring carrier traverse assembly. The bowstring carrier traverse assembly having a motor operable with a spool and a connecting component, wherein when the bowstring is not retaining a bowstring and the bowstring carrier is in the cocked position, the traverse assembly selectively returns the bowstring carrier to the at-rest position.

A quiver for holding arrows is one-hand releasably attachable to an archery bow. A quiver attachment bracket having opposing grooves is mountable to the bow. The quiver has two parallel elongated struts supporting an arrowhead hood and at least one arrow shaft holder. A clamp is mounted to and between the struts having biased first and second jaws extending transversely of the quiver with each jaw having an adjacent one-hand grippable handle extending transversely of the quiver opposite of the jaws. The biased jaws each have a tongue that is lockable into one of the grooves.
