An upright, particularly for a counterbalanced, high lift truck, comprising first and second telescoping dual mast sections disposed in fore and aft relationship, each section having laterally spaced outer, intermediate, and inner rails, and a load carriage elevatable on the inner rails of the front mast section providing a five-stage, sextuple upright. The carriage has side thrust and vertical guide roller pairs travelling in anti-friction engagement on the inner rails spaced to distribute the forces for reducing roller wear and rail distortion. The carriage has a free lift that leaves the top of the carriage flush with the top of the upright reducing the possibility of ceiling damage. The carriage also does not extend laterally beyond the sides of the mast section to reduce interfering with objects alongside the lift, such as storage racks, when engaging a load. The rails and carriage overlap to a high degree thereby allowing loads to be lifted by a truck having a smaller capacity.

Sextuple upright

A strong, light-weight track shoe for use with a track-laying vehicle. The shoe includes a cast body portion having three bored lug segments spaced along the front of the shoe and a pair of bored lug segments spaced along the rear of the shoe. The cast body portion has a fin-like guide member for engagement with sprocket and bogey wheels. Pairs of reinforcing ribs extend lengthwise along the shoe which form the longitudinal sides of sprocket tooth engaging openings. A single grouser extends along the width of the shoe to reinforce the body portion and to provide traction between the shoe and ground as the vehicle moves along a terrain. The grouser member and the rear lugs form the leading sides and the trailing sides of the sprocket tooth openings, respectively.

A track compensator for adjusting tension of an endless track on a track-laying vehicle and for absorbing changes in track tension during vehicle operation. A tension adjuster, connected to an idler wheel, adjusts the distance between a drive wheel, at one end of the track, and the idler wheel at the other end of the track. A shock absorber mounted between the vehicle and the tension adjuster absorbs stress on the track caused by debris between the track and vehicle wheels.

Track compensator

A planetary final drive having an output shaft journaled in a two-part housing with a compound gear consisting of a sun gear and a spur gear supported by a bearing on the output shaft. The spur gear engages and is driven by a powered pinion gear, and the sun gear engages and drives the planet gears in the planet carrier; the latter gears engage a ring gear grounded to the housing. Spacer means carried by said output shaft locate the bearing and maintain it under the spur gear, and preclude relative axial movement of the compound gear relative to the carrier.
