A cap assembly comprising a body, a sealing membrane and a retaining ring. An opening is provided through the body and includes a recessed circumferential channel and a membrane engaging flange positioned proximate the recessed circumferential channel. The sealing membrane covers the opening and includes a body engaging flange and a pierceable surface. The retaining ring is positioned with the sealing membrane engagement surface in overlying engagement with the sealing membrane. Extension of the tab into the recessed circumferential channel of the body releasably maintains the overlying engagement and biases the retaining ring against the membrane. The inner wall structure of the retaining ring extends radially inward beyond the membrane engaging flange of the sealing membrane, to, in turn, protect the membrane.

Self sealing bag in box cap assembly

A connector for a self sealing fitment that includes a body, a lower flange, and a locking mechanism. The connector is configured to sealingly engage with a cap coupled to a spout of a flexible bag by sealingly engaging with a sealing membrane of the cap. The locking mechanism facilitates the maintaining of the same in the inserted configuration. A lockout collar is provided to preclude inadvertent and undesirable coupling between a connector and a sealing membrane of a cap.

Connector assembly for a self sealing fitment

A cap assembly having a body, a sealing membrane and a retaining ring. A spout engagement channel is positioned on the bottom surface of the body. An opening extends through the body and includes a recessed circumferential channel and a membrane engaging flange. The sealing membrane covers the opening and includes a body engaging flange and a pierceable surface. The sealing membrane is positioned upon the membrane engaging flange so that the body engaging flange and the membrane engaging flange are in overlying engagement. The retaining ring includes a tab, a sealing membrane engagement surface and an inner wall structure. The retaining ring is positioned in overlying engagement with the sealing membrane. Extension of the tab into the recessed circumferential channel releasably maintains said overlying engagement and biases the retaining ring against the membrane. The inner wall structure of the retaining ring extends radially inward beyond the membrane engaging flange.

Self-sealing bag in box cap assembly

A cap assembly comprising a body, a sealing membrane and a retaining ring. An opening is provided through the body and includes a recessed circumferential channel and a membrane engaging flange positioned proximate the recessed circumferential channel. The sealing membrane covers the opening and includes a body engaging flange and a pierceable surface. The retaining ring is positioned with the sealing membrane engagement surface in overlying engagement with the sealing membrane. Extension of the tab into the recessed circumferential channel of the body releasably maintains the overlying engagement and biases the retaining ring against the membrane. The inner wall structure of the retaining ring extends radially inward beyond the membrane engaging flange of the sealing membrane, to in turn, protect the membrane.

The portable tank defines a chamber within which is disposed a liner having a sealing interface with a tank discharge assembly. The features of the sealing interface of the liner with the discharge assembly and this discharge assembly itself virtually eliminate any risk that contents of the tank will seep or flow into the space outside of the liner and between the liner and the inner walls of the tank. The method of installing and using the liner system are also disclosed.
